Any chance of Mayweather fighting Margarito flew out the window with that performance against Cotto.

Mayweather did very well at the lower weights where he had a ridiculous reach advantage over nearly every opponent he fought. But when he began to move up to his natural weight fighting guys his size, he really began to cherry-pick his fights, and tip-toed around the toughest fights.

He retired with a lot of questions unanswered, a lot of prime, hungry dangerous fighters calling his name. His toughest fights were ahead of him. That will pretty much be his legacy.

Mayweather stans always have this funny notion that Floyd was somehow the smaller man in many of his fights.

I see a lot of people thinking Mayweather is scared of Margo....ok... I again am not for Mayweather. I hope he gets his ass whipped, but the fact is he would easily outbox Margo, and Cotto. From the what I have seen in Paul williams that could be Mayweathers toughest challenge, but it would be tough for Williams too.

I think Keller man is dead on, calling mayweathr out, and Margo should do it louder and louder. But calling a person out and beating them is two different things. Margo has 1% chance of beating Mayweather. If you saw the Cotto fight, you know Mayweather is a 25x better boxer than Cotto, faster, better counter puncher, in better shape and much better at moving laterally.....You also saw how wide Margo's punches are. Yes the wear down 95% of fighters, and yes it is more crowd pleasing, and yes it was a awesome sight to behold seeing him steadily wear Cotto down...But people that was Cotto, not Mayweather, and I assure you Kellerman, Steward, nor anyof you who are intelligent boxing fans and not judging from your heart but your brains, none of you will bet a dime on Margo to win more than 3 rounds vs Mayweather.

Your absolutely correct. Margo has insane pressure, and will get stronger and stronger as the fight goes. However, that is Cotto he did that too. Cotto is not anywhere near the boxer Mayweather is. No where near. Not as fast, not as accurate, not as great defensive, not have the stamina, not as good as counter puncher, ...However, after 10 it was anyones fight...with Margo wear and tear and Cotto baking straight up taking shots,,,Then moving laterally all in full effect. This exploded on Cotto.

Now envision Mayweather in that fight...you think Margo was getting hit by counters all night long..and missing when Cotto used lateral movement on the ropes...What do you think will happen with he faces Mayweather who again is quicker, smarter, better boxer, used to using lateral movment where Cotto is not as experienced at it, more accurate...and come the 10 round,,Mayweather hmmmm will not be worn down as Cotto was because several things..

Mayweather will not be taking the punched Cotto did, as he his much harder to hit
Mayweather would not back straight up as Cotto did, then he would take some punishemnt then move....

Yes Mayweather has to man up to take the fight, but if he did we would be saying well he needs to fight Williams now...He simply is better than margo, hatton, judah, Cotto..his biggest obstacle will be Williams. Margerito Groupies....be honest. Margerit would get humiliaed by Floyd, and I hope that Margerito would stop floyd as I hate him. However, Cotto was EASILY out boxing Margerito. What won the fight for margerito simply was his pressure vs a Cotto that is not use to boxing, not use to having to learn how to use ring generalship, cotto that retreated most of the time directly backwards took some shots, then moved laterlly.

You can not take anything from Margerito or his great fight plan to eventually weare Cotto down and out. In fact I like Margerito, a throw back fighter...However!!!!!

The only thing Cotto has on mayweather is brutality, hard punching and wearing his opponents down, and none of those attributes would serve either him or Mayweather good vs the beast in Margerito. It is simply boxing, speed, counters, lateral movment and stamina. Look at how Cotto was outboxing Margerito, had he been a little bit better and better defensivly hmmmmmmm.

However, I do agree Mayweather should quit acting like a B%&tch and fight margerito. Is Mayweather a great boxer...YES, no doubt. He would box circles around Marg and everyone knows that BUT....

Marg is very big and strong and would NOT be hurt by Mayweather's punches. If he took everything Cotto had, he could easliy take what Mayweather has to give.

I think Mayweather could beat Marg but he would have to be running the whole night because Marg would touch him to the body and could hurt him. I don't think that Mayweather wants any pice of Marg right now.
