Actually it will. No reason to totally slate Pavlik, because he would have been beaten by a 'legend' (American), but that would have to mean that Hopkins was not a 'grandpa' anymore so Joe beating him would have to count.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of them claimed Hopkins discovered the elixir of eternal life inbetween fights.

The A beats B, B beats C therefore A beats C theory has been debunked countless times in boxing. Just because Bernard Hopkins beats Pavlik doesn't mean Calzaghe has too, by way of osmosis. He's clearly not done as he showed last April. But he's far, far away from the same fighter he was even 6-7 years ago, let alone 10 years ago. I think people argue that because Calzaghe fans like to argue that their man was "old" too lol.
