Should B-Hop still be that high Slick? He has lost 3 of his last 5 and one of his wins was against a significantly smaller guy.

Cotto overrated: Correct; he's 2-1 against top ten contenders, not just Quintana (and that's giving some benefit of doubt because Quintana was unrated before beating PWill). Some cats don't read right.

I definitely see what you are saying. However, Winky was number 2 pound for pound at that time and Tarver was top 5 pound for pound at the time Hopkins beat him. Calzaghe was ranked so high so when another pound for pound fighter beats another, then they are only bumped back a few spots.

For example. If Clinton Woods beat Hopkins, then Hopkins would be off of the list becuase Woods was not on there. Since Calzaghe was on, then Hopkins is still on. Hope that made sense becuase i was even confused from it..lol .

priced himself out? if that how you want to see it you Bob Arum defender. They agreed on an amount and then Bob low balled again, and Hopkins came out of left field with an offer while negotiations were going on with the Williams' camp. BTW using your logic, Margarito needs to beat Williams two times to avenge the loss. Since you stated Quintana needs to be beaten twice in order for Williams to avenge the his loss to Quintana. Basically you are penalizing Williams for knocking out his opponent in one round. I see whats up. You are such a fanboy.

Fair enough. I guess I just find it difficult to accept B-Hop being that high because I just felt in the Calzaghe fight that he didn't have much left in the tank. He failed to take advantage of his opportunities like a younger Hopkins would have.

I hate pound for pound. Look at the Williams/Cotto/Margarito confusion over trying to rank them. Styles make fights and its basically impossible to rank them like this.

Yeah, Hopkins is fighting the pound for pound quality fighters becuase he still wants to be on there. Thats why his last opponents were all on there and why he wants Pavlik, who is also on the list. The pound for pound list is based on who the fighter beat rather than how they performed.

For example. I am ranked on the pound for pound list and you ar not. You beat me but you didn't perform well and won a controversial decision and i am past my prime. You are still on the list reguardless becuase i was on there and you still managed to win the fight, reguardless on your performance. Hope that makes sense.
