This is not a mismatch; these posters think that JJC can win. I would like to ask to give us more detail on how he would win. What round would he win?? What qualities does he have?? What game plan would he need to beat Ray Robinson??

Your input would greatly be appreciated

Hey flawless, I did give some point on how I think JCC could win, I'm not 100% sure he could..but he has a chance.

I did however, get flamed for voicing my opinion..so without further ado..

I will go first, since my name was mentioned. I have never seen much of Ray Robinson except the tapes I have. Now, he fought many great fighters and lost a lot of matches. He fought rocky Graziano 6 times, knocking him out in his final fight with him.

I think JCC is a better fighter and more skilled fighter than Graziano and could give Robinson a great fight at 140. Robinson also fought Kid Gavilan if I'm not mistaken, who was a great Cuban fighter and lost to Robinson in a very close fight, some say Gavilan won. Remember, Robinson lost 19 times and he lost in his prime. A lot of those came late but he wasn't the perfect fighter that many made him out to be.

I honestly don't know who would win but I think that Chavez would give him all he could handle at 140 and have a very good chance to win because of his iron chin and great body work.

Mate, of course JCC has a chance. Please add to the discussion, this is a forum everyone has different opinions. No one is right or wrong in a hypothetical fight.

Oh my ****in goodness. This is the worst thread of all time and the fact some people are actually giving Chavez, a guy who got outboxex clean by Whitaker, a chance, makes me laugh.

You wouldn't know cause you weren't a boxing fan then as i wasn't. But i have videos of Chavez and the commentators commentating his match said that guys ranking. I'll look for the fight and post it.

And don't go an look at his record if you weren't in that time watching boixng.

And don't look for Boxrec to tell you something.

I'll take Ray Robinson in this match up.
Sugar Ray Robinson is ALWAYS mentioned when the talk is "Who is the BEST fighter ever P4P?" He is always mentioned as one of the very, very best. Not just a "great fighter", but one of the upper echelon best of all time. There's a reason for that.

I have great respect for Chavez and his fantastic accomplishments. But I got that and even more for Ray Robinson and his accomplishments.

Something to consider is that many of our forum members are way more familiar with J.C. Chavez than they are with Robinson, so naturally, that will make a difference in their feelings. But Robinson was really something very special.
