Chavez fought at least on top ten welterw that i recall the commentators saying he was ranked #7 and yes, it was a tune up fight for Chavez. I have the video where the commentators mention his opponets ranking at welterweight and this was a stay active fight for Chavez.

I need the name of a top 20 welterweight that Chavez ever beat. There doesn't appear to be any on his record.
