Cotto wasn't hurt. He was tired, swallowing copious amounts of blood, and didn't want to continue.

I believe Cotto was having trouble breathing. The cut in his mouth obviously opened back up, and his nose was gushing blood.

Here is the evidence of that.

Here is the end of the fight.

I do not consider this quitting. Cotto was trying to throw punches even after the had first gone down, to no effect. It is evident that he could not see with all the blood in his eyes, Margarito was literally landing at will with every thrown punch.

Cotto took a knee, like a smart fighter does in that situation. Contrary to what many people seem to believe, he did NOT look at his corner with 'puppy eyes', looking to quit, it was only after the corner had already stopped the fight that he looked that way.

Even the commentator says that "Cotto is basically saying i'm done, i'm done"

To put it simply, you are wrong.

according to you Cotto was overrated, so Marg's win over him shouldnt be considered significant right?

He was in serious serious trouble when he took that knee. To me that's nothing more than a form of submitting. I don't buy for one second that it all comes down to his corner stopping the fight. They seen he had had enough when he went to the knee, and stopped it for him. Officially they may have stopped the fight, but Cotto had already accepted defeat. What's wrong with that when you've been through what he's been through? Not only the beating he took, but the fact that he had lost all hope in defeating Margo because he hit Margo with everything, and the man just kept coming and coming. Nothing wrong with going out like that, this fight wasn't worth his life. And mental defeat has to be added into the equation.
