Did Miguel Cotto Quit?

I haven't seen the fight but I see a few people arguing about the details of how it ended and whether Cotto quit or not.

he did the smart thing and took a knee. but im not sure he wanted to go on from the look on his face.

He didnt quit but accepted the fact that his corner stopped the fight. He didnt argue with that, at all. He definitely had enough and would've gotten SERIOUSLY hurt if the fight would've kept on. He had this look of defeat on his face, he was zapped, had absolutely no energy, wasn't keeping his hands up and was just taking huge shots.

I was here at the fight inLas Vegas along with Rogelio. Cotto CLEARLY quit. The 2008 version of "No Mas". PRs were walking out crying and pissed. They were talki . ng anwhole bunch of **** before the fight, but they ALL left before they could announce the time of stoppage. They were gettin punked by the Mexicans. Not one PR was talking **** afterwards. They were crying and sad. I got so much heat for wearing my flag like a cape by the PRs, and it felt good to see them be sore losers afterwards. But Cotto did quit. It was VERY CLEAR.

Except the ref didn't stop it, his corner stepped in and stopped it.

It reminded me of the Pacman/Morales fight. Morales looked to his corner and said yeah... I was beaten. Cotto got a beatdown and his corner realized that he was beaten and stopped it. Cotto had the same look that Morales had in the 3rd fight after the first knockdown. He knew then that he would lose the fight no matter what he did. I don't consider that quitting. He didn't go Frietas on us in my opinion.
