Lets get this right... Jeff Lacy was going to be better than Roy Jones

Honestly, jeff lacy taking a beating from calzhage, fighting with a ****ing torn rotator cuff qualifies him as having a whole lot more heart then alot of his fellow peers. His actions in the ring were nothing short of what a warrior does in this sport. I dont think you have any idea what it takes to be able to take a beating and get up off that stool the next round and keep going. I think this is more of an interpretation of not being able to comprehend the definition of heart.ok i give you that one, but after that fight he took a 1 year break, before the manfredo fight he was FAT! (probably weighin over 200lbs) and went back to 168 and failed to impress.
that interprets a person with no desire for the sport, no love for the sport, and having NO HEART to fight in boxing.
and by the way, lacy should NOT be fighting at 168, more at cruiserweight, he's way too big for the super middleweight division.Comment

Ray Robinson KO 5 Julio Cesar Chavez. This tells the story of what the greatest black american would do to the greatest mexican legend to ever fight in the sport. And thats just one. I suggest you either take it back or acknowledge that blocking punches with your face only gets you so far.Comment

You people are sensational morons and delusional time wasters. The Joe Calzaghe fans that work tirelessly to prop up the tomato cans in his wake and pose them as live dogs are doing Lacy no justice by making these ridiculous threads that are nothing but clutter on NSB. If you seriously believe the perverted pulp that you post on here Sir_Joe, I advise you to stop watching boxing and take up cheer leading.
Jeff Lacy was as good as he will ever be when he almost lost on WNF. Period. Just like Euro-bums, there are Amero-bums--overrated fighters that fold like lawn chairs when put against real opposition. Only in America, we generally find out a fighters flaws a little after 20 bouts, compared to the 30 or 40 that European fighters go through before they get any real challenge thrown at them.
Remember, Joe Calzaghe was nobody outside of the UK boxing world until he beat Jeff Lacy in his 41st professional fight. You guys like to point to how "Joe was the underdog in the fight and look what he did."
That doesn't help your case whatsoever. Think about that. The undefeated champion was actually the underdog? No one respected Joe because he had eeked out his living making Ragu out of paper warriors with good records and no opposition.
Please quit cluttering NSB with this kind of disgusting over excitedness. Hopefully Joe retires soon, so you guys can follow him away from boxing and watch him jog up foggy hills in Wales every morning while you waste your life living it out through other men.Comment

i dont even think hes mentally weak, i think that whatever frustrations he has outside of the ring are alot of unspokens that we arent hearing about. Being mentally weak and not having heart go hand in hand, someone who is mentally weak would fold at the first thought of losing or likely not step in the ring at all. these issues are outside the ring, because no one can argue when hes in it, hes giving it what he has, no matter how limited at this point he really is.Comment

Usually a supermidlleweight is supposed to be faster.....but I think Tyson might be faster. Lacy's body is always very tight and slows down over the course of a fight. But....he probably could fight at heavyweight LOLComment

Another meanigless thread from another meaningless poster......This is well quite frankly just as bad as every one of Viva Mexico's threads.................
To even fathem that ppl think this about Lacy is a disgrace to him, boxing and to RJJR....You ppl really need to realize what Calz has done thus far, and its not too much so becuas eof this you guys tend to build these fighters up that he faced like they were ATG....Not happening.....The man barely got by Hopkins, and if you ask for my personal opnion i think the fight was 6 rounds apiece and with the KD a 1 point Hopkins win, but thats besides the point...If he does beat RJJR which i find a lil unlikely, He will have cemented his legacy as a HOF, but still not an ATG...Theres a big difference b/w the 2.........STOP WITH THIS NONSENSE PPL.....Threads like this is other on here are making this forum out to look bad, and I tend to think we have al ot of intelligent posters on here, but **** like this is giving a bad name to this forum as a whole!!!Comment
