I feel bad for Lacy. I dont think he'll ever be the same from that fight, which IMO should've been stopped after round 8.

Yeah, and as the referee wasn't going to do it his corner should have done. They should have had the compassion to stop it so that Jeff could live to fight another day. As it is he is now completely ruined having been humiliated in there.

As for Joe, it was the most complete performance I've ever witnessed by any fighter.

Jeff Lacy fought 8 rounds with a torn rotator and never once asked his corner to stop his fight with Calzaghe.

ok i give you that one, but after that fight he took a 1 year break, before the manfredo fight he was FAT! (probably weighin over 200lbs) and went back to 168 and failed to impress.

that interprets a person with no desire for the sport, no love for the sport, and having NO HEART to fight in boxing.

and by the way, lacy should NOT be fighting at 168, more at cruiserweight, he's way too big for the super middleweight division.

No wonder Jeff feels to let down in boxing, Gary Shaw his promoter threw him to the Lions and Dan Birmingham refused to open the cage and stop the fight.

Good move by Lacy in dumping them both but it was too late.

Lacy got beat but it didnt take the fight out of him.

Calzaghe guys gotta realize Jeff Lacy was a prospect but not even close to being considered GREAT.

What it did do was make him go back to the drawing board and re-evaluate his style. Going into a fight head hunting for an Early KO doesnt always work especially from a busy fighter which Calzaghe once was.

This is not Joes toughest competitor, Maybe to Calzaghe fans because Joe looked so good. But Mikkel Kessler would also put a hurt on Lacy as well.

Lacy was an awesome fighter. When he did not have the fear to get in there and throw his best punches. extremely powerful. comming bak he was lacking in confidence.

Jeff is nothing like Roy Jones in any shape or form.One relies on his power to win fights the other can use his boxing ability to cruise to a decision.Roy has more skill in his pinky than Lacy has in all of his over muscled physique.Lacy is the definition of a one dimensional fighter that bull rushes forward with no jab or footwork and prays he can land one of his wide looping left hooks.He was behind on the cards numerous times before he won by knockout and was overhyped way too much by the media.Even a die hard Calzaghe fan like Abadger doesn't put that much stock in the Lacy win and yet you make it seem like he was an all time great who could of achieved anything with his limited skills.Lacy was a prospect who beat no one of significance before he faced Calzaghe.
