it does not really matter who ducked who cause that still does not mean Hopkins would not have beaten Joe in his prime
also it does not mean Pavlik would beat Calzaghe cause he is ducking himLast edited by Dynamite Kid; 07-25-2008, 06:12 PM.Comment

I agree. I think he was just making a point to me, because I worded something wrong and made it sound as If B HOP was never hurt or ever hit the canvas or something along those lines. I agree though I have never seen HOP really truly HURT or dazed. Never. I don't think I ever will, even against PAVLIK... I think PAV will win but pull a win over him just like Joe did.You make some goods points but i have to disagree here. Hopkins was hurt in the Mercado fight and there was no question about that, however he was no where near about to be stopped. He actually showed good composure when he was hurt especially for an inexperienced fighter that he was at the time. He got back up, fought on the outside and tied up when he had to. He is much more smarter now and doesn't get hit nearly as often as that.Comment

What makes no sense about it? What paperwork did Calzaghe sign? All we know is that Hops fought Hakkar and Daniels and Calzaghe fought Jimenez and (chuckle) Pudwill. Those are the only facts I see here.
But since you know so much about the negotiations why don't you tell us what happened with the proposed Glen Johnson-Joe Calzaghe bout?Comment

They both agreed to the fight. There was an article in Ring Magazine about it with someone who witnessed the entire meeting. I dont see how anyone can deny it happening, its about as concrete as you can get. What makes no sense about it? What paperwork did Calzaghe sign? Calzaghe had a ****ty division and fought those chumps sure. But he was willing to fight the best. Hopkins wasnt. Simple really.
As far as I know Calzaghe and Johnson were scheduled to fight before Joe had more hand troubles which have plagued his career.Comment
