Marciano, Dempsey, Tunney, Greb, Pep, Lamotta are all great white fighters.

Pep lost consecutively to Sanders so i have Sanders above Pep in my P4P list, Marciano isn't the great HW of all time it either Ali or Louis and the greatest middleweight of all time is either Monzon or Hagler. Tunney might be the best LHW of all time but Spinks, RJJ, Archie Moore are all contending for that title.

Saddler. And pep was better then Saddler p4p because Pep was in a plane crash before that. He wasn't really in his prime.

Then why have they been losing so many fights the past couple of years? Why don't they have the world titles anymore?

Most of the African-American boxers like Louis, Foreman, Jones and Tyson were actually of mixed (white and black) race. Even Ali had a white great grandfather. How successful have 100% black African boxers been?

I think Willie Pep was probably better than Marciano. If Marciano fought in more recent times he may be the greatest cruiserweight ever (not trying to be disrespectful, just don't think he'd beat the very best at HW and his weight was that of a cruiserweight)

Or LHW, he could fight at 180 lbs, so I'm sure he could make 175 lbs. Imagine that.

I think Willie Pep was better also, Rocky's undefeated record is nice but Pep went his first 63 undefeated, won his next 73 in a row. Not to mention he beat some great fighters along the way.

I would advise people not to get into this racial mudslinging that seems to be going on in this thread. Just recognize that there have been great fighters in all colours.

But that aside, boxing has become a perverse ritual of whites knocking out blacks. Both of yesterday's headliners followed that trend, as did last week's headliner, and most other weeks'.

That makes no sense. 'African' is not a racial category, nor all we from Africa, (though there are some silly folk tales about this).

Of course Duran is white. He's white hispanic and would answer our surveys as white, since the hispanic category specifies non-white hispanics like Trinidad.
