If Hopkins beats Pavlik then people cannot discredit Calzaghes win over Hopkins. If Pavlik wins, then they can discredit it, but Calzaghe would fight Pavlik then beat him (Probably) so it don't matter.

True, but those who choose to write off Joe will do it anyway. If Pavlik beats Hopkins convincingly the hype surrounding him will be immense, and then if he fights Joe it will be all the funnier when he loses.
