Its a competitive fight for sure, but I tend to think that if Taylor can decision Hopkins then so can Pavlik, but in a way its up to Hopkins. If he comes to fight then he can definitely beat Kelly, the problem is that he won't, and the reason for that may not be that he chooses not to, but that he can't, because he doesn't have the energy. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing the fight if it goes ahead.

I kind of agree with this. Same with Hopkins' effort against Calzaghe... he's more concerned with getting embarassed than winning. Close decision for Pavlik.

The thing is though...Pavliks speed will be a joke...Hopkins can do what he does best is counter....I dont think the young Pavlik is ready for a technician and a master of the science like Hopkins is....Taylor was diffrent because he was athletic, explosive and fast Pavlik is better then Taylor but not in those areas.
The big question is whether Pavlik's power will carry at 170. Judging by his 2nd fight with Taylor I don't see Pavlik KO'ing Hopkins. It'll go the distance IMO, but i'm favouring Hopkins.
Pavlik needs to win this by KO get anything out of this fight. If Hopkins makes Pavlik look like Calzaghe when he fought Hopkins, this will take all the momentum away from Pavlik. Nothing less than a KO will suffice in this fight for boxing fans and critics. What's the deal with the catch weight? Hopkins needs Pavlik not the other way around. I wouldn't be surprised if Hopkins prices himself out of this fight anyway. If it does get signed, it SHOULD NOT be a PPV fight. Put it on HBO or whatever so Pavlik can get some much needed exposure.
