Cotto-Margarito Tickets Not as Hot as Vegas Temps

An inside source at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas confirmed today what many within the industry quietly suspected - the tickets for the Miguel Cotto vs. Antonio Margarito welterweight title fight on July 26th are somewhat cooler than the summer temps on the Strip. [details]

Yeah, do to the weather most tourists don't come here during the summer.. Believe it or not it's actually one of our least busiest times of the year so you know everyone downtown that night will more then likely be fight fans.

The Casinos have been hurting do to the economy as well and employees having been getting many hours.. I'm sad to here this about the ticket sales not going so well but whenever there is left over seats.. guess who gets free tickets?? hopefully I get a phone call again asking me if I want to go to the fights!! *crosses fingers

I have been in Las Vegas to see fights in July and in August. The only way to describe the heat would be unbelievable. I tried to be indoors every minute that I could. Even at midnight it is well over 100 degrees. Most people say the dry heat is better than the humidity, but I'd rather be in ****kok anyday.

They should have put this in Atlantic City or NY.

You get used to it living out here but the tourist find it hard to bare.
Yeah, the nights can be hot too.. It's 93 outside right now..
That's how it's been all week in the 80s and 90s all night.

The only places I know really covering it are Univision and ESPN en espanol.. it's a shame.
I am optomistic though and think the PPV sales will do good.
NO real boxing fan will miss this fight.
