Sucking the TV **** has spoiled the "promoters" of boxing. What do they get paid for? I can beg a TV station for a slot to showcase my talented fighters. Thats easy! But what I have yet to figure out is how to effectively and efficiently fill arenas for my fights. TR sux! And I have yet to see a PPV promotion for the fight in my area! Looks like the rat is looking to spend the least amount of change possible promoting this fight. Cotto, its time to stand on your own now. There is nothing else TR can do for your career. The retired fighter showed you a blueprint on how 2 make yourself a superstar. Piss or get off the pot! You got an island behind!

.....and it shows how hollywood boxing can be on the westcoast sometimes that unless your a PBF or an ODH no one outside the boxing world knows whats going on.Maybe Cotto and Margo shouldve been running off at the mouth at each other or maybe done some dancing with the stars or even done a match or two in WWE to get some mainstream attention,such a fkg pity!~ this fight should haVE been in AC or MSG.

MSG or Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City was the way to go for this fight. Bob took a gamble by putting it in Vegas.

The fight shouldn't have been in AC or NY. Cotto is a known fighter on the east coast and is at the point now where he needs to be known worldwide. The fight was put in the right place but the promotions are not there. Also neither Cotto or Margarito helped the fight out with their quiet man routines. That I don't talk **** is only cool for a certain amount of time eventually you will need to open up and let your thoughts be known. I am not saying either man has to go the PBF route but damn let your voices be heard. Get in front of the camera and let people know about you. Cotto's personality is about as dry as that Vegas heat.

its not cotto or margarito's fault this is happening, vegas is not a boxing town like everybody thinks. the venues down there dont hold large capacity crowds like msg or staples center. pacman vs diaz had like 9k fans in a building that holds 12k, if you cant get 12k fans to see a fight in vegas its because were the fight is(vegas) not the fighters. put this fight in msg and you'll get 20k + easy or definitely more than 9k in staples center.

I have to admit, without any real press quotes, without interviews on american tv, without coverage from mainstream promotions, without anybody speaking english or practically speaking at all, its hurting everything, tredh said it best, these guys being so quiet and "wanting to do their talking in the ring" isnt helping at all. Infact to be honest, i havent seen much in way of even really reaching out to the mexican demographic on the west coast on this fight. Due to the nature of my personal relationships, i am constantly watching spanish tv, and i have seen hardly anything on the fight, at some point, one of these guys has got to say something on live tv that will make people give a ****.

When neither fighter speaks real good english, when neither fighter has a personality that you know will sell fights, the promoters have to do something, america doesnt embrace boxing as a whole anymore, so if you are going to put a fight in vegas, with guys who have styles who sell, then ****ing promote that, no sports illustrated covers, no espn the magazine articles, nothing, you cant tell me that isnt the fault of the promoter.

Al Haymon and Ellerbe probably had a point when they decided to overlook cotto altogether at the moment.

Thats not Cotto's m.o to be talking **** just to sell tickets and make yourself look grand.The kid prefers to talk with his fists instead but yeah he should be more charismatic though(ex.Tito Trinidad)! Doesnt matter though because after this fight he will start getting more reckognized cross country then if he lands a fight with ODH by the end of the year (and wins) he will become a major draw forcing a fight with PBF by 2009.
