Yeah, do to the weather most tourists don't come here during the summer.. Believe it or not it's actually one of our least busiest times of the year so you know everyone downtown that night will more then likely be fight fans.

The Casinos have been hurting do to the economy as well and employees having been getting many hours.. I'm sad to here this about the ticket sales not going so well but whenever there is left over seats.. guess who gets free tickets?? hopefully I get a phone call again asking me if I want to go to the fights!! *crosses fingers

With the high gas prices, the fans are discouraged to drive and fly to Las Vegas.

The source quoted in this article is full of **** on at least one point:

The $100, $200 and $300 tickets are sold out, NOT the $500 and $700.

I was just on ticketmaster and the cheapest ticket left is $500.

This isn't a huge fight, only for us hardcores.

One of the biggest mistakes The Bobfather made was ticket prices.

If you want to sit anywhere in the lower bowl it's a minimum $500, which is out-****in'-rageous for a fight like this. No matter how much we may want to believe it these guys aren't household names, especailly Margarito.
Generally speaking, nobody knows who the **** he is and Cotto isn't too far behind in that department.

If tickets were cheaper (let's say the most expensive ticket was $500) I truly believe this fight would have been sold out or come close to it.

Arum has gotten lazy as ****. Zero promotion. He figures if he puts it in the casino they do all the work for him..wrong! The casinos only promote locally to make people aware of this fight, nowhere else.

Like someone mentioned earlier, there are no more real promoters anymore. They just get a facility, hold 3 or 4 press conferences on both coasts and stage a fight, that's it.
