exactly right!!! yea it should've been in ny or la, but like someone said, the casinos put in better bids............

but the ticket sales shouldn't be the only indication of the magnitude if the fight........this will be a GREAT fight nonetheless, just not as great of an EVENT as many had hoped......still FOY!!!

looks like the mexicans on the left coast aren't willing to put up the dough just to see him go down.

sounds smart to me, i wouldn't go to MSG to see cotto catch a beating if i knew it was going to happen too.

Of course. Putting Oscar into the equation will put a Oscar/Cotto fight on a different magnitude.

you're right, i believe floyd should have absolutely made this fight b4 he retired. it's a shame!!!!

but don't get it twisted, boxing fans know would've won.....

my point was, if you think rjj is one the the greatest, pbf is a no-brainer....regardless of whether he fights cotto or not. beat him, then there's somebody else out there haters will say he should've fought. its a no-win situation really. either you like floyd and respect his skill and accomplishments, or you hate him b/c he didn't fight cotto. still doesn't change the caliber of fighter he is, and if he wasn't deserving i dont think he'd been ranked #1 on p4p lists for as long as he was b4 he retired.

you may not like him, but he's proved a lot. cotto would only ADD to his legacy, it doesn't detract it at all............

I never said that i dont respect his skills as a boxer. That i most defintely do. That said, you cant go around calling yourself the best if you're not willing to face the best. "Saying" you can beat someone doesnt hold any weight.

As far as your last sentence goes, you wrong. If Floyd actually does stay retired and chooses not to fight Cotto, it WILL detract from his legacy. What he did at the lower weight-classes was great, but he can only live off of those wins for so long.

he can live off of those wins as long as he wants, they will always be there, he owes nobody anything, not fighting cotto will go down simply as him not fighting cotto, because frankly unless someone retires when they are way past it, there will always be questionmarks of what could have been, with floyd there will always be questions on certain fighters he did or didint fight, its like that with everyone, historically there are so many fighters who didint fight everyone or is missing someone, and while it will be recorded, it doesnt take away from what they did and who they are. That will be the case with floyd, he wont be universally liked at all, but among the boxing community hell always be respected for what he did and the weight classes he won at, but you are so convinced otherwise, there is very little he could do to make you change your mind, if miguel gets knocked the **** out next saturday, will you still be singing that tune?

Even at midnight it is well over 100 degrees. Most people say the dry heat is better than the humidity, but I'd rather be in ****kok anyday.
