Destroying the will of a great slick boxer in Carlos Quintana is up there with one of his greatest wins. He also managed to make Malignaggi, another slick boxer, look bad. That Ricardo Torres fight proved Cotto had a shacky chin, but most importantly that he had a heart. You might not like Puerto RIcans but you gotta admit that one hell of a resume.

the guy said it's one of the best resume in boxing. do you think it's one of the best in boxing?

this is not a floyd-type scenario where he could've fought guys but chose not to.

but facts are facts. he did not fight the top guys at 140 when he was there.

he's had 3 good wins at 147 but not great wins.

not a miguel hater. i just pick antonio to win this fight. you'll see me supporting and cheering for cotto after this fight. i think he's better than marg. i just think marg will win this fight.

You say Cotto didn't fight the greats at 140lbs but none of the greats fought each other. Who has fought better competition than Cotto at jrWW over the last few years? No one.

In 1-2 more (Margarito/Williams) Cotto could potentially clean out the best or 2nd best weight class in boxing. And who has fought better competition than Cotto has at WW? Certainly not Margarito.

          140 was a mess because

Tszyu remained inactive and injured for so long
Hatton took the title from tszyu and then defended it against the weakest belt holder, then moved up to 147

Floyd couldnt secure a fight with hatton or cotto

Hatton wasnt ever going to get in the ring with a young cotto, so cotto fought anybody he could at 140.

140 has seen alot of inactivity, ducking, and crap throughout the last few years.

Anyone who has ever "boxed" SSM has been able to outbox him. Zab Judah loses to everyone, and Carloz Quintana as one of your greatest wins is a joke. He didn't make Malignaggi look bad, instead he made him look tough. And Ricardo Torres, on like 2 weeks notice, almost had Cotto's number.

His resume is good, but not great. He has yet to beat another elite fighter in their prime and has never even beaten a champ to take the belt.

I'm not saying that he should have fought other fighters, because the guys he has fought are/were the best out there. But, that still doesn't change the fact that most of the guys on his resume aren't all that special.

                  You hide it pretty well.

You have a picture of the biggest losers of the last century.

I am not impressed with Cotto's resume but you can take nothing away from Cotto either. Cotto has beaten everyone put in front of him and something has to be said about that. I don't think he has avoided anybody and I you can not critize a fighter for the era he fights in. There are not many great fighters that were/ are in 140 or 147 and that is not Cotto's fault. PBF is the only true great fighter that Cotto could have fought and he has retired.
