Bob Arum knows as well as anyone that Joe is coming to the end of his career and is looking for the biggest money fights. RJJ is the biggets money fight and represents less of a risk. Joe would be an idiot not to take it AND ANY OF YOU WOULD DO THE SAME. If Joe beats RJJ and Pavlik deals with Abraham, a Pavlik fight would probably then be big enough to tempt Joe out of retirement. But he has said for ages he doesn't want to be remembered as someone who went on too long and in his late thirties he is wary of this.

Where the Calzaghe camp is wrogn is to come out and start slating Pavlik. It just makes them look worse, they should have just said: 'Joe feels that after years of not getting big money fights in Europe he want to go and make the most money possible while he can. He has waited a long time to be able to make a deal with Roy Jones and he thinks a fight with Jones would be far bigger than a contest with Pavlik' and everyone would have to respect that decision.

A catch weight for all I care. Alphabet titles don't matter anymore, they've both established themselves as recognised champs.
Put Pavy in a burger king, Calzy in a steamer and let them fight at whatever weight they come out as.
