Bro is not personnal, don't sweat it, but honestly the times that we are living in are BAD, really ****ed up times. I'm just saying that these aren't conversations that need to take place here. Puerto Rico bacame a US goverment experiment and now we are seeing the outcome of it. Let's just try to keep to the threat and give it a rest to all the other crapI awknowledge that this place is ****ed especially in terms of real estate, interest rates, and a ****ed up stock market. I am not in denial that not only is my country in a terrible recession, but people are becoming broker with the amount of jobs being ****ed off and the immediate rise in gas prices. In many ways, US being do knee deep in debt with china and begging them for money for economic stimulus. I have no problem knowing the reality of what this place is.
Also i sell health and life insurance so numbers and interest rates mean ALOT to me, so when i read certain statistics and equity indexes etc, especially for countries to which my family lives, i guess i read it differently than you.
Dont take what i say personally.Comment

you know what would have made ford money AND helped out boxing a great deal...
is if they had margarito AND cotto do a commericial for ford trucks and in the commercial (in a round-a-bout way) promote the fight.
Everyone would have won on that deal.
either way this is still good news for him...its good that he's going to expand his fanbase and popularity.Comment

Look, this is the last thing ill say. Because puerto rico is apart of the US, its part of my job to know whats happening money wise because when we get clients or applicants who come to us wanting policies, reigonal issues like this matter because it creates adverse selection if there is a good chance of someone not being able to pay a premium, but using their credit card to which they already owe a ****load of interest on.They didn't have money to pay because the governor is ppd and the congress is pnp. And they were playing political games with each other. The governor didn't want to sign the new sales tax law because they didn't agree with the %. So he went ahead and shut the government down to put pressure on congress to give him what he wanted.
And to me it wasn't a big deal in the end everyone got paid and I everything went back to normal.
If you don't live here and don't have any idea what you are talking about, then you shouldn't comment on it. It makes you sound ****** and ignorant.
You are saying that they are playing "political games" but just to show you how that doesnt make any sense, what the hell is this?
This basically means that they had NO MONEY to spend which is why they couldnt come to an agreement, i know exactly how governments work, especially in territories. Places like Guam and American Samoa dont have this problem, neither does the ****** islands. The bad news came as the island's government was in the eighth day of a partial shutdown after running out of most operating funds. Puerto Rico is operating off the 2004 budget after the governor and the legislature failed to agree on spending plans for 2005 and 2006.
As a nation, puerto ricos credit rating is terrible and they dont show any sign of recovery anytime soon, any client i get from the island is ALWAYS seen as a substandard risk unless they show credible assets, or have an operating estate.
Maybe im wrong, and im making all this up, youre right i dont live there, and im ignorant. But i will say this, if it wasnt for the fact that puerto rico is a territory, yall would be in the same shape that cuba, haiti and jamaica are in, there isnt a country on this planet that could get away with this
A major credit rating agency downgraded Puerto Rico's general obligation bond rating to one notch above junk status on Monday, likely forcing the U.S. territory to pay higher interest rates for its bonds amid a fiscal crisis.
any other place, this would lead to a military junta/rebellion because the government would have NO money to operate.
Like i said, maybe im ignorant, i dont live there, so my opinion dont matter. But the numbers dont lie.
Remember what i said about the government and its workers? You should be thankful you are apart of the US (and so should my familia) because without us, there is NO WAY this would happen without an all out war or junta
http://www.puertorico-herald.org/iss...agflation.htmlFaced with the need to cut approximately $1 billion in spending, the government decided to cut its primary source of expenditures, its payroll. According to the GDB, payroll accounts for approximately 80% of the central government’s budget, while approximately another 10% goes to paying interest on the government’s debt. As the largest expense for the government, cuts in payroll are considered unavoidable.
You cant even ****ing function like that, as ****ed as the US is, its nothing like that. And even if you wanna hate and say were in a housing crises, we are basically KEEPING YOU A COUNTRY.
Shalafi, to answer your question,
http://www.puertorico-herald.org/iss...agflation.htmlFor decades, migration to the U.S. mainland has been Puerto Rico’s safety valve and has proven to be an effective way to disguise the Commonwealth system’s inefficiencies. With the economic model unable to generate sufficient job opportunities in the private sector, Commonwealth officials found another economic safety valve: government employment. A fiscal crisis, however, has taken the Commonwealth to the verge of reducing employees’ salaries and potentially cutting jobs, which makes government employment no longer an option for reducing unemployment.
Again, if mexico, cuba, haitai, dominican republic could run to spain, or france like puerto rico does the US, do you think you wouldnt be knee deep in **** right now?
Like you said, i dont live there, i should shut up.Comment
