A lot of people live beyond their means like they do in the US. I don't, I own my own business and do pretty well for myself.

A lot of people work for the goverment but not even close to what you try to make it look like. And when the goverment shut down it wasn't even close to the end of the world scenerio you are making it out to be. It was for a few days and the economy took a small hit that's about it. And the shutdown was all about politics nothing major.

We of the carribbean live in poverty stricken places where a handfull of people have the wealth. Sort of like third world. I cannot speak for you personally but what I do know is that the majourity of us are poor. NO BMW's, no expensive ****. And my island is Oil rich!
