Glad it's finally been confirmed. September is a good date, the sooner the better!

A prime Jones would smash a prime Calzaghe. But this isn't a prime Jones.

Still, Jones was one of the elite years ago and I think Joe will have more problems with Roy then he did with Bernard, and that was no easy fight!

YUP, little JOEY has never been in the ring with someone of any kind of speed like ROY... Jones speed and power (let alone his boxing ability) will be too much for lil joe. I HOPE, joe gets hit a few times and gets all emotional and tries to retaliate and BOOM.. Jones has got him where he wants him.. Jones will do everything to make him get careless and that my friends is where Jones will BEAT lil JOE, he will get careless and JONES will counter him ONE to the body and TWO to the head... with power and speed.... Joe will get frustrated just as he did with GRANDPA HOP.... Only thing is, Joe's slaps will be exposed more, you will see his slaps a lot. Especially if jones lets Joe put him in the corner and that's where it will be a laughing stock... If Jones can take MOST of Tarvers shots to the body and head as MANY times as he did in the 1st and 3rd fight (RIP PRIME ROY in the 2nd fight). I'm surely positive Jones will be able to take LIL JOEYS punches on the ropes. Down side to that, Points for joe, even though it will be funny to watch.... I laugh EVERY TIME I see Joe punch, its the only entertainment I get from his fights... THANKS JOE for all the good laughs... now prepare for some real power.....

again i'm just talking ****.... I think it will be a great fight... I cant wait...

I would take bets on Jones beating lil joe but as you see I don't have ****.... lol

I think if he can take out JOE CALZAGHE, I would say he COULD take out a tarver and/or Johnson just because as stated earlier that Jones was coming off heavyweight and lost and well was in a different mind set than he is now, or at least I think....

yea, but he lost to tarver in convincing fashion in the third fight too.........

and jones was coming down from heavyweight when he fought and BEAT tarver the first time. i dont wanna hear that excuse for the successive three fights he lost after that.

by the way, i hope he does beat calzaghe, but even if he does, saying he can beat tarver b/c he beat calzaghe is crazy, and only something a rjj fan would say..................

and dont get me wrong, moving from light heavy, to heavy IS a major accomplishment, but beating "the man" makes it even more major. why peter??? why not klitchko if he beats peter???

all i'm saying is this **** wont make roy the GOAT, handpicking opponents and such. beat calzaghe, he should be right back in the scheme of things. beat peter, MAJOR MAJOR accomplishment. beating klitchko EVEN MORE MAJOR accomplishment, but **** all that, why not just stay in light heavy, and take care of business there? no reason to move up and fight peter, when you got 3 or 4 compelling fights in your own division, including 2 guys why KYTFO........

I agree some what with you. Tarver was a ONE HIT WONDER, he had Jones #. I mean he lost the 3rd but took everything he had IMO. Tarver is nothing, dudes a joke. I def. agree with you that Jones should stay in that class and clean it out. WHICH I think he could do if he beats Joe. I think Roy's logic is, If he can beat Joe he can beat anyone and that's why he's moving up. anyway I would much prefer for him to avenge his looses with Tarver and Johnson and do like you said "CLEAN IT UP".....
