A lot of Margarito fans are really running at the mouth, and I'm not saying they shouldn't. This is a forum and they have every right to share their opinions and support their fighter but.. All these threads and talk of Margarito destroying Cotto with ease and inside of 5 rounds sounds more like insecurity rearing it's ugly head. The Cotto fans like the Marg fans are obviously confident that their fighter is going to win but you don't see them going on and on about invincibility and how the fight is going to be a cake walk. Any objective boxing fan realizes this is going to be a tough fight for both men and very likely a war of attrition. I hope this post doesn't sound like I'm talking trash to the Margarito fans b/c that's not the purpose but.. Lets get serious. This is going to be a tough close and hard fought fight for whoever wins. Anyone else have any objective opinions in anticipation of the fight?

I think there's alot of smart rational people on both sides and alot of idiots and fan boys on both sides to.You just don't notice the rational thinkers and objective fans as much because there not as loud as the others.I really don't mind the idiots as much as i do the fan boys though because i think the idiots do it in part to try and hype them self up for the fight and make a emotional investment in the fight and there fighter to make the fight more enjoyable and seem much grander to them.The fan boys really piss me off though because they often lack real boxing knowledge and really believe the stuff they say.They only follow one fighter at a time and disrespect most every other fighter deserved or not.You talk to any reasonable fan of either guy honestly about this fight and they will tell you there more worried about this fight than any other fight there guy has been in because there is a good chance either guy could not only get beat but taken out in a very brutal fashion.

First off, this is my first post, sup everybody!
I'll admit it right from the start, I like Cotto. It's hard not to, I'm puerto rican and Cotto is a good fighter. Just like Mexicans can't hate Margarito. He also is a good fighter and a good family man, as is Cotto. I respect both of them so instead of bashing either of them, I plan on looking forward to July 26th when two worriors let thier very own fists do the talking for us.

But to speak objectively, Margarito IMO just doesn't have the complete package to beat Cotto. As a matter of fact if anyone has Comcast cable they've already put up the Countdown to Cotto vs Margarito up and Margarito states that the reason he lost to Paully is because he tried boxing and switching up which didn't seem to work in his favor thus he will just continue to do what got him recognition which was to continue punching. But realistically against Cotto I don't think that's going to work considering Cotto moves around the ring and selects his shots. I believe Margarito's endurance will take a toll on him if Cotto is able to land hard hooks to the body. Cotto's also gotta be careful for Marg's uppercuts, but they have to come from a short distance instead of lunging if Tony wants to be successful with that.

I think the fight will come down to Cotto's jab and who can frustrate the other. Some are expecting a war, but I think it'll be a little more one sided than it's being made to be.
