I wanna see Quintanna v Cintron. That could be a good one.
A loss has never stopped great matchups from being made before. In actuality, too much emphasis is put on losses. Rather than looking at the circumstances surrounding a loss, i.e. a close fight which could have went either way generally speaking, people just automatically look at the "L" and disregard anything else.
Perspective people. Was Margarito knocked the **** out by Williams, or did he appear to just start a bit late? I'm not making excuses, because I saw Williams win by a round myself, but lets not act like Paul kicked his ass from ring post to ring post for 12 rounds. Williams deserved the win but took more punishment than in any other fight up to that point.
Perspective people. Quintana beats Williams and all of a sudden, Paul is just a hype job and a bum. Fast forward to the rematch and what happens? Quintana is just a bum.
Losses happen. It happens when you fight quality opposition, sometimes by the slimmest of margins.Comment

thats the sentiment in the first few posts in this thread which is what i had read when i posted that. for every one mayweather ****rider propping up margarito, there are 10 more individuals who do the same thing on the opposite spectrum for pac/cotto. that argument doesnt really hold. and the same people throwing out that accusion do the exact latter i just mention.Comment

Which is why I think he won't allow himself to lose. If Cotto loses, its only the first time and a rematch would be huge. If Tony loses, it was supposed to happen.this is the ONE fight at welterweight that margarito has an excellent chance at scoring a victory and claiming the top WW spot, i cant think of any other fight in the last 5 years that margarito has been at the division where he REALLY had a great shot other than against possibly mayorga.
Wanna know something ****ty?
I'm probably going to be in Vegas that weekend, with no tickets.Comment

to be honest i didn't really feel like paul did enough to take margarito's belt but i kinda feel like his fight with clottey should of been a draw but i don't believe that anyone was scared to fight margarito i can't even see margarito beating shane or floyd

i think cotto is a better fighter than marg.yes. whats ****** about people thinking that is that there are 20x more people propping up cotto and pac and comparing them to mayweather for the primary reason of hating, it goes both ways, the idea that this factors into this fight with margarito is ****** since margarito actually has a great chance at winning.
but styles makes fights...... cotto taking on marg is a big mistake......
if cotto boxes and keeps the fight in the middle of the ring and smartly goes in and out i think he should get a ud12 over marg.
the problem is no matter what cotto's gameplan......i think miguel will be lured into slugging it out......Comment

The original point of the thread was that I thought there were a few Margarito fans running at the mouth about how easy the fight would be and that it is delusional to think this wasn't going to be a very tough battle for both men. Someone else responded by saying he noticed several Mayweather fans had joined Team Marg in bashing Cotto. Likely in an effort to rally against Cotto, the man who is most likely to inherit Mayweather's WW crown. Its not particularly bashing any particular type of fan.thats the sentiment in the first few posts in this thread which is what i had read when i posted that. for every one mayweather ****rider propping up margarito, there are 10 more individuals who do the same thing on the opposite spectrum for pac/cotto. that argument doesnt really hold. and the same people throwing out that accusion do the exact latter i just mention.Comment

Has berto announced his next fight? I feel like everyone's starting to get impatient for him to step up in comp.. unfortunatley no big name weak links have presented themselves in the division as good step up fights just yet. Everyone's still dangerous.Comment
