There's a lot of Cotto Bashing right now!

The original point of the thread was that I thought there were a few Margarito fans running at the mouth about how easy the fight would be and that it is delusional to think this wasn't going to be a very tough battle for both men. Someone else responded by saying he noticed several Mayweather fans had joined Team Marg in bashing Cotto. Likely in an effort to rally against Cotto, the man who is most likely to inherit Mayweather's WW crown. Its not particularly bashing any particular type of fan.

to be honest i didn't really feel like paul did enough to take margarito's belt but i kinda feel like his fight with clottey should of been a draw but i don't believe that anyone was scared to fight margarito i can't even see margarito beating shane or floyd

I was rooting for Tony, but I think Paul put enough rounds in the bag early to seal the deal. With that said, I do think Margarito was picking off many of Pauls shots with his gloves, but the overwhelming amount of punches early won him those rounds. Clottey I felt lost clearly. He had given up halfway through the fight and was looking for a way out. Tony wasn't overly impressive either, but he toughed it out more than Joshua.

Margarito is a pretty big welter. If you're Shane Mosley, who do you fight, Margarito or Adrian Stone?

Has berto announced his next fight? I feel like everyone's starting to get impatient for him to step up in comp.. unfortunatley no big name weak links have presented themselves in the division as good step up fights just yet. Everyone's still dangerous.

Well, when you have a WBC strap, one really should be fighting top dogs. Not saying Julio is a top dog either, but rather an opponent who is pretty much an equal imo.

I know he did, and Gomez said he was gonna beat Cotto. Boxers have to say these things. But for fans to repeat it like it should be an understood fact is a different story. If you don't think you see an excess of boasting for margs on this site and Cotto bashing then maybe i'm crazy. I'm not even a major Cotto fan. It's just that I don't see what all the nonsense hype going around is. Who knows.. Maybe this is a blowout.

A lot of Margarito fans are really running at the mouth, and I'm not saying they shouldn't. This is a forum and they have every right to share their opinions and support their fighter but.. All these threads and talk of Margarito destroying Cotto with ease and inside of 5 rounds sounds more like insecurity rearing it's ugly head. The Cotto fans like the Marg fans are obviously confident that their fighter is going to win but you don't see them going on and on about invincibility and how the fight is going to be a cake walk. Any objective boxing fan realizes this is going to be a tough fight for both men and very likely a war of attrition. I hope this post doesn't sound like I'm talking trash to the Margarito fans b/c that's not the purpose but.. Lets get serious. This is going to be a tough close and hard fought fight for whoever wins. Anyone else have any objective opinions in anticipation of the fight?

About a half hour ago there were 6 threads bashing Cotto. It's definitely more in the other direction. Who knows.. Maybe the Cotto fans are just less supportive.

I can understand how some members may feel like this fight is being a little overhyped. But you have to understand the rivalry between PR and Mex.
This is another De La Hoya vs Trinidad for us. The trash talking is inevitable.
