i wont miss this match, all the people that say valero has no chance and its a C class fighter are wrong

of course pac may win and valero its no a p4p fighter but he isnt a guy that you can take lightly he is strong and wild, that may not be the best for boxing, but if manny underestimates him and start at a slow pace he might get a surprise,

still i think manny will win but its not a mismatch like everyone says. i think valero has a lot more chances than david diaz did.

still i would like to see something like valero vs guzman and then the winner against pac, that way the hype would be much better, many casual fans of boxing dont even know who valero or gusman is and would think that they are just cannonfodder.

That's true Scott. I favor Paquiao to win but I would also never say a puncher like Valero has no chance. I'm just not comfortable picking someone who has not truly been tested, but it has happened before. I remember on paper it looked like Paul Williams had little chance of beating Margarito. He was also an aggressive fighter who looked wide open for counters. But it didn't happen that way in the fight. He tightened up his defense and fought better than ever. I guess my point is you never know and sometimes confident unbeaten fighters don't know how to lose and sometimes they don't when they're supposed to. Either way, I look forward to seeing Pac/Valero.

Everything you say is true Joseph. It's just that you can't ever be sure of the limitations of a man who has never failed. You mentioned Paul Williams, and he worked that to his favor against Margarito. His competition hadn't really been any better than Valero's before that fight, which is why I didn't have faith in him.

Barrera wasn't in his prime when he fought Pacquiao in either fight.
MAB just came off a win against EM and Hamed before the PAC fight, strung up 6wins after the loss to PAC. sure he's not the 'younger prime' but he's still in prime in the first PAC fight. He knocked down JMM thereafter and most ppl like myself had him winning, JMM didnt have an easy fight against an 'aging' MAB.

When Pac demolished Barrera, Barrera jumped to 130 and became the champion and defeated every boxer 130 has to offer before....

MAB, EM and JMM looks very good on Pac's resume..
Beating a young 100 KO artist Valero will add much more ****e to that..

He's only a four division champ, not five.

I really hope this fight gets made. It's one of those fights that's close to impossible to say what will actually happen. Is Valero good enough to hang with, arguably, the best pound for pound fighter today after the unknown and possibly suspect competition he's faced, minus Vincente Mosquera, the champ he beat for his title who was a very good fighter? I don't think anyone really knows.

Will it be a large mismatch and another opponent that should not have even been in the ring with Pacquiao and should Valero's people held out until he had had more experience at the top level with more champion fighters before challenging for the biggest fight in his career so early? Too hard to tell.

One thing I do know is that, while it lasts and however it finishes, it should be an interesting fight and barring a dominant, one sided beat down similar to Diaz, which shouldn't be expected but also shouldn't be counted out, it could have all the earmarks of a very interesting and possible 'Fight of the Year' status.

Let's hope it just gets made though. As exciting a fighter as Pacquiao is, the only fights that have been good and dangerous match ups for him in a number of years have been against Marquez. His other fights have been against opponents that he has been expected to basically dominate and knock out. On paper this is actually no different as Valero is an untested, unknown fighter who has never fought in America and has little pro experience comparative to Pacquiao. Whether they should be in the same ring is anyone's guess, but, in theory I think it will turn out to be a very exciting fight and may very be the fight that Valero's fans have been waiting for and the fight that Pacquiao fans have also been after. A knockout guaranteed non stop action fight!

Some Media like ESPN still recognize the Ring Belt.. Too bad Barrera dropped the WBC at 126... I mean Pac beat the best Featherweight at that time and won the Ring Belt so I make it 5th...

In all fairness to Valero, he's a good technical boxer in sparring. He gave Morales all he could handle when Morales was preparing for his first Pacquiao fight. He also toyed with Urbano Antillon, an undefeated lightweight prospect in their sparring tussle, and he made mincemeat of Filipino gatekeeper, Randy Suico. Check out youtube or other sources, you might find all of these there. I also read he gave a good account of himself against his sparring with Barrera, but he throws all these technical skills he had acquired all away when it counts most, the actual fight itself. I guess you have to blame it on his Japanese handlers. They've been dangling an incentive, or a bounty whenever Valero scores a 1st round KO, that's why he's always going for broke in the early rounds on all of his fights.

Unless they (Valero and camp) accept that you can't KO all of your opponents as quick as the first 19 he had, they're in for a long night against Pacquiao...

valero has incredible power but he carries his hands quite low, which he lacks the head movement to get away with, and he swings quite wildly and his punching pattern is predictable.

i think he will give manny little problems if manny can just keep a tight guard, be cautious, and box valero cautiously before punishing him. valero obviously isnt used to being made to fight a full 12 rounds so if manny wears him down before punishing him it may just make it even easier.

                      manny by mid round TKO
