Roys hands aren't massively faster, and Calzaghe does have slightly quicker feet so...

Speed: I gave this to Calzaghe. Let me justify. Jones has quicker handspeed, but Calzaghe isn't far behind. Calzaghe has much quicker footwork than the Jones has nowadays. Therefore I give the edge to Calzaghe.
Power: No question, this one goes to Jones. Calzaghe has more pop than some people realise, but his hands prevent the bombs he used to throw.
Stamina: No question, this one goes to Calzaghe. Jones is the older man and Calzaghe is famous for his workrate.
Defence: Edge goes to Jones, but only because he actually considers working off the back foot unlike Calzaghe. Offence is defence for Calzaghe and he really doesn't catch many flush shots, but Jones showed extremely good defensive skills against Trinidad.
Win: Calzaghe. He outworks Jones and towards the end of the fight, he lands some hurtful flush shots on his was to a three or four point victory. Jones will keep it very competitive for the first half of the fight by keeping his defence tight, countering any reckless shots by Calzaghe with his good hand speed and generally landing the cleaner shots. Calzaghe will sneak rounds in this period though as Jones just can't quite keep up all the time. Around round 7 or 8 Jones starts tiring and his defence doesn't quite hold up anymore. The rest I mentioned in the first line.Comment

Yes. By being constantly throwing punches he squashes the other fighter's plans... incluiding Bernard's. That's his defense.
In no way is it a Mayweather defense, or a Whitaker defense, or a Benítez defense; his defense is his constant offense.Comment

Damn it, I thought no one else had it quite panned out like that. Needless to say I'm in total agreement, great post, better than I could have put it.Speed: I gave this to Calzaghe. Let me justify. Calzaghe will have a few lessons early on and have to get stuck in from R4 onwards imo, this is common place with him unfortunately. He might struggle being effective once he's adapting to Roy, but after R8 I think he'll be a lot more comfortable, and will have a feel for what he needs to do. Certainly no clear path to victory at all though, close match, Roys got more in the tank than he's credited for.Comment

I'm OK with this assessment too. Although, I'm picking Jones to win (basically because I want him to). I think Jones has a lesser chance than Hopkins did, but he has more in his bag of offensive tricks so you never know I guess.Speed: I gave this to Calzaghe. Let me justify.
