Damn it, I thought no one else had it quite panned out like that. Needless to say I'm in total agreement, great post, better than I could have put it.
Cheers Dude. If there was any analysis I was going to get right it was Calzaghe vs Jones, considering I have watched virtually every fight of their champion-level careers. I might be completely wrong of course, but that's the way I see it happening!

and how easy do you feel it will be to adapt to roy?
I feel calzaghes workrate completely works against him in this figght... its exactly what roy wants him to do... flurry away joe
Adapting to Roy might not be easy, but adapting mid-fight is Calzaghe's biggest strength. Just look at what happened in the Kessler fight. At round 6 I had Kessler winning by 4 rounds to 2. Calzaghe then stopped squaring up, instead keeping his shoulders angled to use his jab and straight left. Kessler, a counter-puncher, was left with nothing much to counter as he didn't have an easy target anymore and the punches being thrown were quicker than the hooks he had been countering. Kessler couldn't adapt and lost at least five of the next six rounds.
Forget his quick handspeed and his excellent workrate. His adaptability is his greatest weapon.

my problem with that assessment is.. your comparing, adapting to kessler TO adapting to roy
I gave Roy speed, power and defense but I didn't pick a winner. I didn't pick a winner because I think Roy can beat Calzaghe but I don't Roy can beat Calzaghe fighting him the same way he fought Trinidad. As of right now thats all I have to go off for the present way Roy fights.
