Taylor probably wouldn't have minded a relatively quick rematch if he won. As for Team Taylor? It would've been better if they took some time for a rematch, after the beating Taylor took.

But who knows? They made that poor choice of putting Taylor in there with Terry Norris.
That's bull****!!! First words that came out of Chavez's mouth were He deserves a rematch. But when talking over the rematch, Taylor wanted to fight @ welterweight and not @ jr welterweight where Chavez was Champion. Chavez didn't want to leave the jr welterweight division so even when the rematch did happen it was @ jr welterweight. Chavez stayed @ Jr. Welterweight for 6 years after that fight, so to blame anyone but Taylor for the rematch not being made any sooner would not be right. And THIS FIGHT STARTED THE END OF HIS CAREER!!!! because a little over 2 years later he fought Norris @ the age of 25 and he was done from then on. So he fought Chavez @ 23. He was in his PRIME going into the fight!!!!! And left a HALF DEAD MAN. People say "he couldn't have died from a punch....blah, blah, blah" But **** that. I've seen fights where a guy got a beating and didn't even hit the mat....(some would say they had heart).....But would end up dying from injuries from the fight.....Remember Leavander? even though he did get ko'd, there was this guy a while back I think he was Panamanian or colombian, but I remember this fight was ****ing distgusting!!!! this guy took a beating like a ****in man and didn't go down, finished the fight, and died a few days later. The truth is NO ONE can say what type of damage is being made during the fight...... But after that fight was over Taylor @ 23 years old looked like he had been boxing for 15 years.**** if he fought again after 25 he was done....**** Chavez fought for 7 years after he was done.LOL

Say it goes 5 more seconds, I am a big guy I can land about 3 punches in a second so say he misses 5 times 10 shots is damaging when you are that hurt. Now take into consideration the light signifies there is 10 seconds left not 2!
Taylor deserved his chance reguardless and there was only 5 seconds left. How would Chavez even have made it across the ring if he was that far away with so little time left? Steele could have said two more words and the bell would have rang to end the final bell. So yeah, there was definitely some fishy going on there.

he didnt have his hands up he was holding the ropes..

so you would be alright with a ref purposley stalling to get a guy a win? wow. the fight was 36 minutes, not 35:58, within those 36 minutes Taylor was put into a position where he could no longer continue, its not that hard... i cant believe many of yall would perfer Steele stall (cheat), to get Taylor a victory.

Thats what happens when one loses money on big fight.

They want the irrational to happen to so as to claim victory.

The referee cheated anyway. He knew that there was only 2 second left, yet he stopped fight even though Chavez wouldn't have even made it across the ring. What i can't believe is the fact that people encourage this and ignore the fact that Steele has a history with Don King involving many other scandles.
