So youre saying that Chavez shouldve been the winner, but because it was so close to the end and how things turned out, you wouldve liked to see Taylor given the victory?? I was saying one more right couldve killed Taylor, is it Steeles job to calculate how fast Chavez couldve got over there, when a man can no longer continue, he loses whether theres 3 minutes left or 1 second left, that was my point.

Taylor WON that fight and beat JCC all night long. You can't argue with that. The points had Taylor winning, the announcers, the fans, the whole God damn breathing world had him winning that fight as long as he made the final bell - so yeah, it was Steele's fault.

Taylor was in no way able to continue and you cant expect a ref to judge how long it might take the other fighter to come over and hit him again, a championship fight is 36 minutes and Taylor got beat within that time and thats all that matters., Duva jumped up causing Taylor to look at him rather than the ref, so if you want to blame anybody, blame Duva, not Steele. Also, okay maybe Taylor wins a decision but who really won the fight, its not that hard to see.

I think this will always be a controversial stoppage because there's two ways to look at it. They even showed a segment on TV after this fight showing all kinds of reasons why Steel shouldn't have stopped it. Don't know if any of you remember seeing that. The red light on the ring post starts blinking when 10 seconds are left in the round. The red light was blinking right behind Taylor when the ref was giving him the count. They showed a replay of Steel glancing at it while giving Taylor the count. I think you can see all this when looking at the HBO slow motion replays. They also made the argument that Steal should have had some sort of sense of time that was left in the round. But then there's also a very good argument why he should have stopped it. There is a big difference in letting a fighter go on in the early part of the fight than the last few seconds of the 12th round. It didn't seem like it, but Taylor took a beating in that fight. It was a slow cumulative effect. When Taylor was up after the knock down he was using the ropes to hold him up or balance him. Who knows how wobbly he might have looked had he not been holding onto the ropes. When Steel asked him if he was alright, Taylor burly nodded his head yes. Steel might have been looking for a verbal answer and to be honest, it's Taylors job to convince the referee he's alright. Holding onto the ropes is not a very good way to go about that. lol When Steel asked him for the second time if he was alright, Taylor gave absolutely no response. He did look out of it, if he had been standing there holding his hands up and talking to the ref, it would have been a different story. I'm not saying Taylor was in la la land when the ref was asking him questions, but he did look like he was in pretty bad shape. Taylors brain damage could have been a result of this fight. Also, one thing we don't truly understand is that those fighters lives are in the referees hands. Had something happened, it would be on Steel for the rest of his life. Regret lasts a life time, especially when it concerns a human life. Being a title fight really doesn't mean **** when it comes to another persons life. And not only his life, but all of Taylors friends and family's lives. When I first seen the fight I blamed it all on Steel, but as time has gone on I've learned there was much more to the situation than just a fight. I wish that fight could have gone down as a draw.
Also, I don't think anyone should blame Taylors corner for what strategy he used in that last round. Taylor knows his body and how he felt physically going into that round. I'm sure he realized he was pushing it when he decided to fight it out in that last round. Taylor should have busted a 12th round DLH when he fought Trinidad. lol

He just wasn't the same fighter he once was. But he was still good and his career was not over. It's like saying Trinidad ended Vargas's career.
Only, Aaron Davis was probably better than anyone Vargas beat post-Trinidad.
