If Taylor didn't stay in Chavez' batting zone, that wouldn't have happen, and Taylor's body wouldn't have takin that much punishment.

But let's say Steele didn't call off the fight and Taylor went on to get the decision, with all the punishment Taylor took, would he have given Chavez a rematch the same way Chavez gave him a rematch?

Well what's the rule of a TKO? I'm assuming a TKO is if a fighter is seriously hurt and can no longer continue, or is it a judgemental call by the referee? If it's a judgemental call by the referee then Taylor deserved those extra two seconds because he would of survived those two seconds.

Chavez, or more appropriately, King, waited 4 and a half years to give Taylor a rematch. When Taylor had deteroriated more than Chavez had in that time.

Taylor probably wouldn't have minded a relatively quick rematch if he won. As for Team Taylor? It would've been better if they took some time for a rematch, after the beating Taylor took.

But who knows? They made that poor choice of putting Taylor in there with Terry Norris.

I still blame Duva more than Steele for the stoppage.

If he wasn't up on the ring apron, Taylor might've been looking at whom he was supposed to, the ref, and verbally responded.

The fight would end and he would've won a SD.

He most likely would've had a short run at the top due to the beating he took that night and in general, but at least he'd have that win on his ledger.

Exactly, he also told Taylor to go out there and fight Chavez which was a huge mistake from a veteran trainer like Duva.

Yeah, him and Benton didn't give the best advice going into the 12th.

I can see why they told him that though. You can never be that sure, especially in Vegas. Although I had Taylor winning, I didn't have him as ahead as some other cards (like Lederman). I gave him 7 of the first 8, with round 2 going to Chavez. Round 9 to Chavez. Round 10 even, and that was a great two-way round. Round 11 to Chavez.

That's 7-3-1 for Taylor, but I can understand if the corner was keeping their own score and not wanting to be too overconfident. Let's say round 10 goes to Chavez and one of the other rounds from 1-8 goes to Chavez. That would make it just 6-5.
