Is this **** the only referee in America.

LMAO at Steve Bunce criticising him on Setanta 'look at his face, he looks about 100 years old'

i agree this was one of the worst decisions i have seen....cortez did not even know what he should do it took them like 15 minutes to make up their minds...and its cortez fault he did not even know if he wanted to stop the fight he was breaking them up for no reason...many steward was so pissed he wanted to cry ....

That was one of the worst decisions i've ever seen. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if there was money involved. You just never know, one of the best refs in the world doing that kind of stuff is just not normal to me.

To all the people saying it was an "automatic DQ". Why the **** did it take 20mins of deliberation with every **** at ringside to decide something thats "automatic"????

The other guy DID get hit behind the head, and it did happen when he was down. But what made it a messed up decision is the way Cortez kept trying to braek them up, seemingly not knowing what the hell he was gonna do(either stop it or seperate them when no excessive clinching is happening.) Basicely, Soto was confused by Cortez because he didn't know when to stop. If Cortez handled it better, there would have been no problems.

So to me, it's not that he called for a hit that didn't happen(it did), it's the fact that it's his fault that it happened the way it did.

Soto outclassed his opponent and ended up losing because Cortez wanted to steal the limelight.

I don't care what decision Cortez made, if he told the fighters they'd get DQ'd if they hit on the back of the head, fine. That's fair, I've got no problem.

The problem is that Cortez spends an age talking to 5 or 6 others about the decision and the fighters are clueless as to what is happening. One of them is dazed and bleeding on the floor and his corner isn't even allowed to see to him, even when it's clear the match isn't going to continue.

It was a farce to be honest and a real shame for Soto. Hopefully we get a rematch and then Soto can get the win he deserves.
