What is that supposed to prove? There are any number of ways a boxer can keep his opponent 'in his pocket'. I haven't seen the Mayweather Corrales fight, so I don't know what he did, but knowing Mayweather I'd guess he was simply much better. As it happens, I do think Hopkins is a better 'boxer' than Tito Trinidad but I believe it was mostly his size advantage that enabled him box so well and look as good as he did in that fight.

Trinidad has the longer reach than Hopkins and still was out boxed.

        So................?

Look, are you really saying that Hopkins size had nothing to do with the ease with which he beat Trinidad? I mean, come on, we are talking about a natural MW (at least) taking on a natural WW here, of course it was a factor.

So here is the MASSIVE size differential in the fight:

Here Tito trying to rough up hopkins against the ropes, which must be a result of of the huge size and strength differential:

How did he use his size to keep Trinidad in his pocket? He used his legs and when Trinidad did cut off the ring and throw, Bernard would cover up and counter.

That was just silly, a few photos from favourable angles don't change the fact that Hopkins was much the bigger man. I mean come on, be real.

He was too big, too powerful, Trinidad (who relies on his power) couldn't hurt him, couldn't put him on the back foot. Its not rocket science.

Size was a factor, but the fight was totally one sided due Hopkins movement, jab and ring intelligence. Did you see how Hopkins was rarely hit hard when he was against the ropes, how Hopkins moved side to side. No credit there. Hopkins didn’t get into position where he was in danger. He frustrated Tito the whole fight. Sometimes he started the rounds moving then the next rounds he started throwing punches that confused Tito a lot and that jab was the main reason he won, Tito couldn’t get into his stride and Hopkins was landing clean blows.

Bernard was on the back foot the whole night! He used his legs moving around the ring which wouldn't allow Trinidad to throw. Bernard would get in and out pretty much. It's what Mayweather did to Corrales, but Mayweather isn't bigger then Corrales at all. Bernard is bigger then Trinidad, but not to the point where it affected the fight or to the exagration people use on here.

Both used speed to limit their oppnenot.
