that's coz floyd was never dropped in his prime, ever, meaning 140, and he only had one kd his whole career against judah, which was a flash kd, and he recovered very fast, and when he fought i believe carlos hernandez when he hurt his hand and touched the canvas while carlos hit him. i think that was the fight at 130.
Whitttaker was much better than Mayweather ever was

Whitaker would have been a bad style matchup for Floyd with his jab, body attack and obvious ability to exchange while avoiding punches.
Whitaker on his best night was an impossible puzzle to solve. I can't see any other Lightweight or Junior Welterweight beating him at his best.
Floyd is a great fighter though. He was very skilled and was dedicated to training. Whitaker lacked that type of dedication at the end of his career.Comment

level of competition is more important than whether a fighter ever got dropped
you can fight all the bums you like and you will look great ...
whittkaer was great because he fought everyone .. never ducked anyone
even fought beyond his prime against up and comers like de la hoya
and trinidad ....
mayweather beats one dimensional hatton and an over the hill de la hoya
and then thinks he's the greatest of all time - lolComment

no he's not, but floyd mayweather is no nelson or mcgirt also, and he'd beat them too, trust me. so in claiming this, seeing the level of competition these two fought, you have to look at their performances more than their resume to really compare them, which is why i look at their overall skill level and floyd was a better skilled fighter overall, period. i used jukko because you posted a fight involving sweet pea and how he has avoiding punishment with his head movement, which was amazing, and i have pernell's whole career and have watched his fights a lot. i'm a fan of his style. yet, you left out a mayweather fight to compare it to, which is why i put the justin jukko fight in because it's only befitting to have floyd's fights in as well as pernell's to honestky compare their styles. you didn't even put pernell fighting buddy or nelson in that video, so i can name jukko, just to look at floyd's skillset in that fight. post a few rounds of that fight why don't like round 1 for example, see who threw the better jab, who was faster, who has better OVERALL defense, who threw better left hooks, etc. do that instead of just putting a pernell fight into your thread.Comment

Then you go straight to skill.
Now there's a way to compare fighters - forget resume, let's look at SKILL!
So where does Zab Judah rank on your list, #5?

you see, and this is why i try to avoid posters of your caliuber, seeing how you just like many other irrational posters on here always find time to try and **** on floyd without looking at anything reasonable and objective. stop acting childish and claiming recycled bull**** known only as floyd bashing and argue with me like a ****ing boxing fan, not critic. whitaker fought a lot of great fighters and so did floyd, they both fought champions okay? floyd and sweet pea are both great because of how dedicated they were to their craft and how amazing they performed in thei ring no matter who they fought. we're comparing skill level, not level of competiton because when you put these 2 in th ering against one another, you won't look at who they fought more than how skillful they are, and i'm not saying that you don't have to look at how floyd fought southpaws and pernell fought right hand fighters, but all i'm claiming is that skillwise, you'd have to look at how they performed more than who they performed on, and imo, floyd mayweather is the better skilled fighter and would beat pernell whitaker, that's all.
Dude...you aren't a boxing fan, you're a Floyd fan. You better hope he comes back or you aren't gonna have much to talk about.Last edited by IMDAZED; 06-28-2008, 12:17 AM.Comment

you see, 1st of all you dumb ****, i didn't brush aside resume, and don't assume anything about me until i postion myself for you to do such that, which i have not done, with teh exception of me claiming that floyd would defeat whitaker, and i base this off of overall skillset ****boy, more than resume. next time, read my post correctly before responding to it, or just stay out of my conversation.Comment
