I heard that Leonard said he could beat Hagler when he was at ringside watching the Mugabi fight.

Some of the shots Hagler took in the Mugabi fight were brutal.
Yes. Leonard said that after watching Mugabi-Hagler at ringside. Dundee was convinced later (according to himself) when he saw Leonard's meticulous studying Hagler.

The Hagler - Mugabi fight was actually the first fight I recall where you could hear the punches landing. Especially Mugabes. He landed some bonecrunchers.

        I see.

Mugabi entered the fight with a 25-0 record with all his wins coming by knockout, it was unbelievable the amount of punishment they both took the body in that fight. I think Hagler was peeing blood for a week after the fight.

I just watched the last 3 rounds on youtube. Damn! They were bombing each other... Interesting, Tommy Hearns was an announcer for that fight. Mugabi was exhausted! Hagler punished him in that last round!!

Brutal fight, Mugabi hadn't gone past 6 rounds prior to the Hagler fight so he began to tire in the later rounds, they both weren't the same after this fight.

Hagler lost the minute he agreed to a 24 ft ring and 10 oz gloves.
