actually that's somewhat disputed.
smaller gloves will probably mean more ko's and broken noses but doesn't make it more deadly.
think of it...... with heavier gloves the chance of ko is smaller but that just means the fighter will absorb more blows for a longer duration.
getting koed in 6-7 rounds is probably less deadly than going 12 rounds with heavier gloves.
I understand what you're saying though.Comment

harder to block with smaller gloves too.
me personally 6 ouncers for junior welterweight down and 8 ouncers for welter to light heavy and 10 ouncers for cruiser and heavy is perfect.
as far as the health concerns , we just need refs that are not scared to stop a fight for fear of not getting another gig and we need trainers that are smart enough to realize when their fighter is outclassed and throw in the towel.
that's what gets most of this guys hurt. the trainers don't want to give up , refs that are scared to be called the next richard steele.
you know machismo dictates the boxers keep fighting until the ref or corner stops it. maybe that's why less people get killed in mma. in mma it's okay to tap or quit when they are getting beat up. a boxer can't do that.Comment
