Big gloves suck all the drama out of the ring.

    Andre Bertos gloves were huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge.

If he were wearing much smaller gloves, you have an exciting and early KO instead of a boring fight and then an exciting KO.

I mean seriously, look at the supermiddleweights. The gloves for that weight class are huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge.

Answer me this though. How can MMA have 4 ounce gloves, have that be perfectly legal in Vegas, but Boxing struggles for years to get 8 ounce gloves approved??????

Where the **** is the sense?

Seriously. The biggest gloves anybody in boxing should be wearing, are 10 ounce and that should be heavyweights and maybe cruiserweights ONLY.

When i was watching the Vargas v. Mayorga fight on ppv in a nice LCD tv, holy **** did the gloves look huge. They ****en ****ed up the fight from time to time i was just amazed that the boxing commision allows these big gloves.

I've mentioned it many times and i ****en hate these big gloves that boxers are now forced to wear. So i aggree with you 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We need to get a petition going or something, send emails to someone. Cause they are most definetly ****ing up the sport with these big gloves.

I couldn't disagree more. The only thing smaller glove do for a fight between two skilled professionals is dramatically increase the likelihood of cuts and hand injuries to occur. The don't lessen the chance of a KO (in fact they actually increase it...heavier glove = more mass = more inertia = more kinetic energy to concuss an opponent, which is what a KO is), and any reduction in speed is negligible. Let the MMA idiots bleed like stuck pigs and ruin their hands if they want. I don't watch boxing for the blood.

Its not even boxing anymore. Back in the hayday they wore even smaller gloves then MMA. It was the hayday for a reason. Lots more KO's, Lots more drama, and Looooots more fans
lots more jerry quarry and muhammed ali's...

Keep the gloves how they are.

Also have you ever got hit with a straight right from someone wearing 8 oz gloves? Easy to sit ringside and cast stones...

If you believe that, you are nothing short of ******ed.

MMA is for bums, and them huge gloves you talk of are probably the same weight as Reyes ones. Gloves protect hands anyway.

                    actually that's somewhat disputed.

smaller gloves will probably mean more ko's and broken noses but doesn't make it more deadly.

think of it...... with heavier gloves the chance of ko is smaller but that just means the fighter will absorb more blows for a longer duration.

getting koed in 6-7 rounds is probably less deadly than going 12 rounds with heavier gloves.

MMA fighters flail wildly and usually only 6-7 punches land an entire fight, boxers land much much more. 400 4oz punches could cause brain damage and did back in the day.
i doubt if mma guys punch less hard than boxers. they're a lot less technical and less precise but i'm sure they hit pretty hard.

the reason they don't suffer more is because of the game in mma. in mma if you're getting rocked , you grab , clinch , wrestle , etc.

in boxing you can clinch but they'll break you guys right away and have to start getting punched again.

in mma if you're getting hit just grab the guy or wrestle him down and you can lay on him 'til you get your senses back. mma looks more dangerous but getting brutally koed with a punch or knee is probably less damaging than going the full 12 rounds without getting koed.
