yeah i know. i use to do some backyard amateur stuff for fun with my friends when we have barbecues or parties and stuff.

i had some century sparring gloves and everyone was game. i suggested everlast pro gloves and everyone was like......"ummm....."

i ended up having to get the heaviest everlast pro gloves and brought headgear and everyone was still not so game anymore. ha ha ha

funny. these idiots would start fights at clubs and throw chairs and bottles but don't want to go at it with pro gloves with headgear on!!! pusses.

nahh i think the gloves sizes they have now are okay...although maybe a step back to the glove sizes in the days of ali and robinson would be better, i cant really be sure but boxing is not a sport you can afford to **** around in, a fighters safety is ALWAYS the first priority. so whatever is safer for the fighters, some quality, in depth research needs to be done

No they don't. If you box you should know that even 10 ounce gloves hurt like a mother if you get hit good. With 8 ounce gloves we would have more brain damage and fighters retireing earlier. 4 ounce gloves in boxing would be suicide, if anyone wen't a full 12 rounds with 4 ounce gloves they would be ****ed after only one fight.

It's because Brain Damage is much easier to recieve in Boxing than in MMA because in MMA you mainly sustain short term damage like cuts, bruises, Broken bones.

In boxing with smaller gloves Bones can be broken on the face easier think Jack Dempsey-Willard, I guess the padding also provides more protection from long term brain damage.

MMA fighters flail wildly and usually only 6-7 punches land an entire fight, boxers land much much more. 400 4oz punches could cause brain damage and did back in the day.

MMA, needs smaller gloves so they could properly use their hands on the ground and whatnot during their **** acts. Boxing is all about standup fighting where the contact you make is only your fists. Going 12 hard rds landing on a human skull with small gloves will easily break your hand consistantly with smaller gloves. Not to mention, the damage on that person's skull. To keep boxing a sport rather than a deathmatch, the gloves need to be regulated accordingly. Also in UFC and all those, once your knocked down and hurt it's pretty much over, where as boxing gives you the chance to get back up, increasing your chance of further damage since a knockdown usually causes minor bleeding on the brain.

Go back and watch fights from 50 or 60 years ago when boxers were wearing 4 to 6 ounce gloves, 1 punch didn't normally end fights and deaths were more common back then.

u are really saying that smaller gloves doesnt mean more cuts, more hands injuries etc? i agree that being knocked out early is better for your brain than being pounded for ages....but there is a reason why they changed the gloves weight right?and it wasnt to dissapoint u and Kball....look this is a sport, not a brave/macho contest...knockouts must not be the target in a fight. BTW i say the same that i said to Kball if u wanna see knockouts go watch ufc.
