I'd rather see the Joe fight Pavlik but I can't blame him for fighting Jones. He will get a lot more money for the fight and it will probably be his last fight. A Pavlik fight would be big but nowhere near as big as the Jones fight.

It's kind of like how Mayweather was going to fight Oscar again instead of fighting Cotto. Better money, not better opponent. No slam to DLH or Roy but they are clearly past their primes...

I don't think Joe is scared of Pavlik, he just has a better deal with Jones. Leow is just trying to stir things up.

Seriously, it is funny how Joe is fighting the AARP club fighers. I'm just saying you'd have to be either a complete moron void of plain and simple common sense or too biased or patriotic to think fighting Jones after Hopkins is really a good choice. this is a ridiculous statement ... it basically means that you are comparing Joe Calzaghe with Gary Lockett .... this is just wrong .... Joe is quite obviously the far superior fighter, Lockett was a domestic/european level fighter at best ... Joe is the linear champ and 2 weight champ ... no comparison

Not exactly, both are over rated with padded records, are trained by the same over rated trainer ( isn't Joe the only fighter he has that hasn't gotten KTFU ?) and finally, until Lockett ran into Pavlik, both really haven't fought anyone dangerous. Hatton,Calzaghe,Hamed,Haye,and Khan all come across the pond hyped up as the next best thing. I've said this before and I'll say it again. I'm not trying to disrespect the UK. I've been all over the UK and love it! The only real deal that has come out of the UK was Lennox Lewis. Haye and Khan may produce because they are fairly young . Haye more so than Khan because the heavyweights suck so bad. This isn't about being Patriotic ! boxing isn't soccer. Calzaghe wants NO part of Pavlik or any of the dangerous guys! PERIOD!
