That, and Wright has the most frustrating style in the world (make that second most frustrating... pretty sure Hopkins takes the cake, considering he frustrated the **** out of Winky, and not vice versa). Pavlik really might have his workrate cut in half by an inability to land through the guard and counterpunches landing after he gets done throwing a combination.

That has definately been known to happen once or twice in the sport.
I don't think he'd do anything different against a southpaw jab, he pretty much did the same thing with McKart, block the jab with his right hand and come back with his own punches. Winky's jab is better than McKart's but it's just an example.

I don't think Pavlik would stop punching either, he can throw 70-80 punches a round for 12 rounds and Winky doesn't have the power to make Pavlik respect him.

Winky hasn't faced such a big puncher either, who knows what would happen to Winky when he continually gets hit on the arms by Pavlik.

If Judah did that well with his jab, think what Spinks would do, since he is more jab reliant, and he doesn't blow his whole stamina in 4 rounds.

Floyd's right hand counter would be even more effective against a southpaw though... interesting fight indeed, but probably not balls to the wall exciting.
Theres a reason why Floyd fought Baldomir instead of Spinks at 154...he knew.

But dont tell anyone I told you that...dnt need any more gasoline to give these guys on Floyd.

      lol

Well honestly...I think the problem is Jack Lowe. It took Pavlik 11 rounds to go to Taylor's body when even I noticed it in like round 4. Pavlik needs a new trainer or atleast bring someone in there that could help them even more. Miguel Diaz actually does a very good job, but he needs to speak up more.

The bold is absolutely ridiculous. Any fighter on the top level of the sport has the power to make any other fighter on the top level of the sport to respect them if they get extension on their punches. The guys who don't have respect power get their ass kicked by iron-chinned bums early on in their careers. Truthfully, no one walks through Ottke, Malignaggi or Wright's punches up to this point in their careers. Wright's jab will get Pavlik's respect at the very least.

Blah, **** it, I don't even care, and neither should you. He is out of the sport, concentrate on Williams, and just be neutral on Floyd... it will make your board experience MUCH better, trust me.

Wrights jab will get respect but Winky doesn't have the punching power to make Pavlik be cautious, Pavlik would just keep throwing without having to worry too much about getting hurt.

One thing you have to factor is that Taylor has good pop....and Winky walked HIM down raher then vice versa...

It'll definetly be interesting to see how Pavlik reacts to that jab....

Also..something nobody mentioned is that how slow Pavlik is...Winy will have a field day countering him..you can see those punches coming a mile away....when Pavlik throws at the guard..he will get tagged instantly all night long.

Pavlik also never goes to the body...he did aginst Lockett..but it was Lockett..it was a showcase fight..he was basically practicing his new moves on Lockett so to speak...If he went to the body more with some right hooks he cpould probably have a bettr chance at stopping Winky.

i initially voted pavlik by decision but winky is such a tricky and wily guy who is hard to look good against due to his strong grounding in basic skills and clever boxing brain.

so im thinking pavlik may be a little stiff and one dimensional to tackle a skiled southpaw like winky but then again pavliks power and pressure will make things difficult for winky especially at his age. winky doesnt have the power to stop pavlik and theres no way in hell hes stopping winky, winkys chin is awesome and hes very clever

so im thinking winky by an MD or SD, pavliks aggression will do enough to sway one judge but winky should get the decision.

Okay, that is true, but fighters still are known to stop throwing even when the prospect of getting hurt is not there.

                    Quintana-Williams I?

Really, Paul's chin is probably the best in the sport (I'm totally serious on this one) and he stopped what he was doing when Quintana landed counters.

You don't get hit and just fire back immediately... no one does. Except Erik Morales, but that guy is just something else.

Lowe is doing a great job with Pavlik.....I agree that Pavlik should've gone to the body more, but it dosent matter, he clearly beat Taylor .
