I wanted Calzaghe to fight Pavlik and I still think he will. I'm just trying to defend Jones as an opponent, it was only a month or two ago that everyone was all for it and people were out in numbers picking Jones in polls over Calzaghe... Now they've found their new hype job in Pavlik because he beat up Gary Lockett.. lol!

I don't think Jones was exposed, he was beaten but not exposed.

Jones just tried to be superman, going up and down in weight, and it cost him. His body for the first tarver fight showed that. The rematch was worse. Then taking on the tough glen johnson was it. His body could no longer keep up the heat he used to keep on his opponents.

i think he will beat RJJ (UD) and perhaps call it a day .... the Pavlik fight would depend on Kelly stepping up a weight or being made @ catchweight .... too much danger for JC's unbeaten legacy there ... if Pavlik unifies the belts and can maybe step up to SMW and take a belt before JC retires then it may happen.

Both Jones and Pavlik are trash now but it's the lesser of two evils and if I was guiding Joe, I'd go with Pavlik just for the simple fact that he's undefeated and has momentum.

Taylor and Miranda were overrated. Taylor never truly showed that he beat hop, and miranda is not in any class of elite fighters. 40Cal says pav should do a bit more, and i agree. You can't go around fighting So-So, and then think you can ask King Kong for a fight. You have to face Magilla, then mighty joe young before you get to king kong. lol

Draining himself to make weight the way he did would have affected anyone, with Jones it was more dramatic because he relied on his speed, legs and reflexes so much.

He says Pavlik wouldn't have much to gain by fighting him, since Joe thinks he would be the victorious one if they fought....That statement makes no sense, A fight with Calzaghe would be a great fight for Pavlik to take if Kelly won, he'd knock off arguably the P4P fighter today.....I just truly believe Calzaghe wants to take the less risky fight against Roy JOnes......These fights with legends are coming about 10 yrs too late........Why did it take him this long to come to America to fight an old Hopkins who still gave him a run for his money...Calzaghe stayed at home exclusively in the comforts of his crowd and lousy/unfair Referees.......Maybe his boy Lockhart ran to him and told him how hard Kelly punches, maybe Joe is the one who's scared.......Pavlik is too risky a fight for JOE....and he knows it......but hey I guess he can't say it............BOTTOM LINE IS PAVLIK WANTS THE FIGHT!!!! JOE DOESN"T!!!
