Both Jones and Pavlik are trash now but it's the lesser of two evils and if I was guiding Joe, I'd go with Pavlik just for the simple fact that he's undefeated and has momentum.

Exposed is a bit harsh for a fighter who fought at a high level for so long. The man lost at age 35 i believe. That is hardly being exposed. Jones lacked using a consistent jab, that's all. That cost him because when you don't jab, you have to sit back and judge when a punch is coming.

Taylor and Miranda were overrated. Taylor never truly showed that he beat hop, and miranda is not in any class of elite fighters. 40Cal says pav should do a bit more, and i agree. You can't go around fighting So-So, and then think you can ask King Kong for a fight. You have to face Magilla, then mighty joe young before you get to king kong. lol

You know if it were true that Pavlik is overrated then so be it. But Pavlik will fight anybody, hes said that many times. But then you have Calzaghe telling Pavlik he should build his record up some more!?!! Pavlik is 34-0, does he need to build it up to 45-0 before taking a "dangerous" fight? I think boxing fans want to see good fights, not undefeated fighters steamrolling tomato cans! I'd watch a Miguel Huerta fight over a lot of undefeated fighters anyday, and he has a "blemished" record.

I think its very clear that Calzaghe doesnt want to fight Pavlik, and why he doesnt.

Jones is gonna learn the Hopkins lesson, sad to say. No matter how good you think you still are, you are always a suspect judge. Age will show like in Bernard's fight. Experience will carry Jones through the fight but not win it.

I've said this over and over. I'm not at all surprised Calzaghe doesn't want this fight. Pavlik is young and dangerous. He's not a one dimensional Lacy. I'm sure all of the UK fans will remind me of the last champion who defended his title against 2 back to back 40 year olds!
Just as many will recognize Floyd as being the best P4P fighter due to his lack of interest in cleaning out the division. Why should Calzage be spared from the critics ? Does anyone really believe Roy can beat the top 3 LW ?

This is great news.

Calzaghe would get no credit for defeating Pavlik, the haters would say Pavlik is no good anyway because he's white and a blown-up middleweight (although he's taller than Joe). Defeating another young, two-title undefeated champion like Kessler, sad to say, wouldn't improve Joe's legacy.

Calzaghe should fight one or more of the following three: Jones, Dawson or Tarver. Then he should retire.

He says Pavlik wouldn't have much to gain by fighting him, since Joe thinks he would be the victorious one if they fought....That statement makes no sense, A fight with Calzaghe would be a great fight for Pavlik to take if Kelly won, he'd knock off arguably the P4P fighter today.....I just truly believe Calzaghe wants to take the less risky fight against Roy JOnes......These fights with legends are coming about 10 yrs too late........Why did it take him this long to come to America to fight an old Hopkins who still gave him a run for his money...Calzaghe stayed at home exclusively in the comforts of his crowd and lousy/unfair Referees.......Maybe his boy Lockhart ran to him and told him how hard Kelly punches, maybe Joe is the one who's scared.......Pavlik is too risky a fight for JOE....and he knows it......but hey I guess he can't say it............BOTTOM LINE IS PAVLIK WANTS THE FIGHT!!!! JOE DOESN"T!!!

It's too early for Pav to ask fore a fight like that when he is unproven in some people's eyes. Boxers say fighters have to pay their dues. I know many of you are disappointed, but Pav has to prove himself more imo. He isn't insulting Pav, he is saying prove yourself, then we'll fight.

Pav has to unify 160. He should fight Arthur Abraham before he even thinks about Calzaghe. Just because taylor beat hop, who lost to Pav twice, and beat gary lockett doesn't mean he can command a fight with 40Cal. He has to get some more fights under his belt. He has unfinished business at 160 and 168. Cal deserves to make some money right now.

I agree. I heard Calzaghe wants to wait until Pavlik is better known and until he turns 35. Seriously, Calzaghe's great but he does not want any of Pavlik. I also believe Jones (who will probably lose) will show him a thing or too, like Hopkins did. Joe looked scared after the first round. He was lucky to get that decision. It could have gone either way.
