Calzaghe is the Light Heavyweight champion, two divisions higher than Pavlik and has always fought at a higher weight class than him... Please to god don't tell me you think a 173 lbs Pavlik can out muscle Calzaghe who has fought guys as big as 190.

Watch at the end of round 5, Kessler moves in to pressure Calzaghe so Calzaghe just ties him up and hits him. Calzaghe is a big match spoiler, Pavlik wont be able to go to work.

I would say Pavlik is stronger and consideribly more powerful than Calzaghe.
Lockett was standing in the middle of the ring getting his clock cleaned with bodyshots, uppercuts, jabs and straight right hands.
He got absolutly anniliated in every aspect, I think it is foolish to use Lockett as an example of how Joe has a stregnth advantage over Pavlik.

Are you trying to be cute? Prove some kind of point? Look at my screen name, and tell me that all I think that matters is punching power.
I'm not putting down Calzaghe. But I know what his strengths are. And Julian Jackson type power to end a fight is NOT on his resume.
He doesn't seem to need it. 45-0.

can you post anything that doesn't involve joe? just asking.

you're getting as bad as filipino fan who has only been watching boxing since2001 and only manny fights , floyd fan who wished floyd could be their daddy , cotto fans that thinks he's already greater than trinidad and as bad as pac haters (not juan ma fans...... he doesn't have any of those) who think getting dropped 4 times in two fights is taking someone to "school".

You can post youtube videos all you want but there is no way a slapping calzaghe is stronger then Pavlik even if he has been a weight above Pavlik his entire career.

You would have to be a Miranda-esque natural super-middleweight to claim that you're stonger then Pavlik and Calzaghe isn't that guy.

That's like saying that Quintana is stronger then Miguel Cotto who just moved up from 140. And we all know that aint true.

Hopkins used to be a middleweight and he dropped calzaghe once and shook him a bunch of times. Pavlik is a harder puncher then hopkins too

It's just a shame joe isn't the fighter he was, he needs to retire after his next fight. His power seems to decrease in each fight. He was a monster in his early career stopping 19 out of his first 20 opponents.

I still think he'll beat Pavlik clearly though but he's only got so much time left.

LOL. For the record many considered Calzaghe a knockout artist in his early career and was billed as a fast one dimentional slugger very early on. His first 20 fights only 1 went the distance.

It's just goes to show how skills are really all that matter and punching power isn't that great of a deal if you have a great chin.
