I think Corrales was his best and what most boxing fans would consider to be closest to a career defining fight for Floyd. But something tells me twenty years from now, accurately or not, people will look back and say De La Hoya was actually it.

Sure now that you know how Robinsons career ended up now you'll belittle I.Robinson but im talking about when Robinson was in his prime and when he had a lot of hype to him. But you don't understand cause i don't think you followed Robinson or only came to see him fight when he was already done as a fighter.

The same Ivan robinson that started pro boxing in 1992 and for 10 years was still fighting 10 rounds? The same Robinson that DREW with Vivian Harris? the same Robinson that only beat Gatti on SD? The same guy the only sneak by emmanuel augustus? please mate am a student of the game.

Of course it will be a bigger win for Cotto than it would for Floyd. Floyd is the pfp #1 in the sport. Nonetheless, it will be Floyd's biggest win to date, it he were to actually win. What can be said about Cotto RIGHT NOW that would discredit a win for Floyd?

I might be inclined to agree with you, but...:
            1. Corrales had been making 130 for years and made 130 for 3 years after the fight. 3 years! Three years. I find it hard to believe that making 130 for this fight was what made him unable to land 10 punches in any round.
            2. His issue wasn't with stamina, he just couldn't touch Mayweather from the opening bell. Mayweather's jabs and pull-counters were perfection and he was able to slip almost any punch that he wanted, he was just a nightmare stylistically for Corrales.

Ever notice that Lampley starts every fight saying "(insert Mayweather opponent here) says that he wants to **** on Mayweather's arms, shoulders, and body until he wears down" and yet they never do it? That's because they underestimate Mayweather's defense and counterpunching, which is why Corrales never landed the punches that he thought would come easy. It also didn't help that Corrales had comically short T-Rex arms and no jab. It had nothing to do with being weight-drained.

for those saying floyd doesnt have anybody good around him is lying to themselves. Love him or hate him i always respected Oscar de la hoya for going out and taking on big name fighters whether he had to move up to do so or not take big pay days to fight guys who werent big money generators or great fighters.

here are alot of fighters floyd could take on
              1. Miguel Cotto
              2. Antonio Margarito
              3. Shane Mosley
              4 Winky wright @ 154
              5. Carlos Quintana
              6 Vernon Forrest
              7. Cory Spinks

and maybe a few middleweights can meet him at 154 for big name fights (highley unlikely) I have noticed that floyd has took the easy road at each division he has been at fighter one good fighter at that class and moving on.

Ali's career-defining fight for me was his KO win over the unbeaten (39-0) George Foreman who had destroyed the two men who had beaten Ali, Norton and Frazier and also his fights against Sonny Liston and the Thrilla in Manila against Frazier, but the Foreman win was his greatest.

Thank you, i was going to pull out the foreman fight but too busy..that was truely ali's defining fight, It was a fight people thought he would get killed. Ali was frazier's defining fight..not vice-versa.
