And that is wishful thinking especially since he hasn't proven anything yet.
    I know

We do get too carried away with our fighters, I'm not sure if it's an enthusiasm that spills over from the football fans who have gotten into boxing because of Hatton or if it's always been there, but I hope it turns out to be at least partially justified with Haye.

Haye has more chance at beating Wlad than Chagaev.

I think often ppl say they're local guy will win for hype, support, but don't really believe it. So it's seen as bias, when really its support. Difficult to separate the two esp when its just words on a screen. Hatton fans were largely mis understood based on this, pinch of salt is required I think, especially with the British sense of humour.

thing is though it is not inconcievable that Haye could knock Wlad out.

          It could happen.

          Everyone knows that.

You misquoted what i said....I NEVER said Wlad has bad movement what i said was the guys he has been fighting have (brock maybe being the exception).

Also you say Wlad likes to set up his guy for the right with the jab, this is true.

            So does Enzo Macca.

What, you dont think Haye will be aware of Wlads strenghs? LOL!

Wlad is not a special fighter, he's straight up and down with no special effects.

Jab jab right, jab jab right.

yeah, i dont think anyone is denying it either, the point is quite simply that his punchers chance amounts to about 10%

look.... wlad has been beaten by legit heavyweights known for their power

haye has been knocked down by three guys... thompson, mock and mormeck who were all light heavyweight before moving up to cruiser... haye was naturally 20 pounds bigger than all of them.

now haye is (hypothetically) fighting a guy who is 20-30 pounds naturally bigger than him

It's always been there. Especially among the brit heavies. Take Frank Bruno for instance.

The brits have always been very passionate of their fighters and boxing in itself has always been a major sport. Much more so than in any other european country. In GB boxing was (and still is?) a significant sport on boarding schools as well as public schools. So the brits has always provided good 'opponents' to housefighters all over europe. The point here is that boxing is much more popular and has a larger following than any other place in the world traditionally, so when they see a good prospect the brits always wants him to conquer the world.

The more I think about it it's not just boxing, but probably all sports. Tim Henman is another example of a (over)hypejob.

But you gotta love the brits they are so passionate about their fighters. Even more so when they lose. Take Henry Cooper. He was a very good HW but the brits didn't love him to begin with because he dethroned their big hero (who's name I've forgotten, maybe Joe Erskine or something). But that changed when he lost to Cassius Clay because of the way he lost. After that ol' 'enry and 'enry's 'ammer was adored by the british public transcending the sport to become a household name among all the brits not only the boxing fraternity.

Sorry fellas I got a little carried away from the topic, but the brits are a special breed and I love'em (when they don't give me red for mentioning that Lewis picked up his belt from the bin )

But Wlad is also slower and his punches will be seen unlike those "light heavys".

wlad has more handspeed now than either thompson or mormeck had when they fought haye... i dont buy klitschko being slow at all

that is just something people point out because he is big, white and they cant find anything else to criticize.
