Dana white is the UFC. he is Don King only he is the only Don King in MMA he controls everything and everything he does including promoting ufc's name is done because he is the UFC. In boxing everyone has their own team. and it's your promoters job to promote you to make the most money possible for the camp. In ufc you fight who dana white says you fight and for the money he says your going to fight at. You really have no say. Dana White to you might seem like "oh he promotes the name UFC" but UFC is dana white. Ask any MMA fan that follows the UFC. they will tell you the same thing.
That's not exactly so. And on the other hand that's pretty accurate. But understand that's the only way to keep it a sport. Saying a fighter should choose who he fights and discussing purses weighting public sympathy to add to the purse is basically what screwed up boxing in the first place. Because popular fighters aren't always the best you know.

The only thing you need to know about grappling is that its not gay unless you look into each other's eyes.

Being a fight fan I really enjoy both a lot, and I feel they compliment each other. MMA often fills my void on the weekends boxing is off air.

I watched MMA since UFC 1 and was just amazed at the skill Royce Gracie displayed. He was the smallest guy in their but his skill over powered their size.

I believe MMA on prime time TV opens doors for boxing to come back to the mainstream. I think the reason UFC did not want to sign with CBS is because Dana is a control freak. Dana would never allow CBS to call a UFC event "Saturday Night Fights". Being that Shaw also promotes boxing CBS intentionally left the door open to hosting a big boxing card by giving there show a generic name like "Saturday Night Fights".

MMA doesn't hurt boxing, boxing hurts boxing!
