Cotto at 145 was not somewhere that he has never fought before. Cotto had success at lower weight divisions too. It's not unknown territory. It's a matter of can he make the weight.

Cotto was Manny's second fight at 147 and Roach was still apprehensive in fighting full fledged WW since he was fighting at 130 less than 2 years before the Cotto fight!!!

Same goes for Cotto at 150. Cotto at 150 is not a mind buggling weight for him since he has been fighting at 154 for just one fight. Manny is already pushing the limits of what a 5'6" fighter can do. I doubt that Cotto would have trouble making 150.

If Manny had more fights left in him and beat Cotto at 150 then you could have seen him go up to 154 .... one or two fights later.

If you are talking about Cotto the fighter, 150 is not a big deal. For the title, it would have been preferable to fight at 154.

For Floyd, we are not talking about titles.

What inside info you have that it won't be a big deal for Cotto to fight at 150. Manny stopped him at 145 and the guy jumps to 154. And talking about weight didn't the rematchs against Morales was at 130 where Morales couldn't do it effectively no more?

I was watching Sworn Enemies(countdown to Mayweather/Judah) and came accross this little quote from Zab Judah.

"I think the only reason this fight is made is because Mayweather saw an opportunity, he thought I was vulnerable, he sat there with his friends and watched my loss to Baldamir and said you know what I can beat him now. Yeah, kind of like Sugar Ray Leonard did when he fought Duran the second time, Leonard has said he wanted to catch Duran between his weight fluctuating so he'd be weaker when he fought him again, or when he waited like 3 to 4 years to finally fight Marvin Hagler, when Hagler was getting ready to retire.

His next 3 fights disprove that theory - he took on Baldomir who was on a hot streak, ODLH who was thought of as hot after destroying Mayorga, and undefeated Hatton who was thought of as hot after destroying Castillo.

Baldomir had 0 chance of beating Mayweather come on now. He got hot off of beating Judah and Gatti. Gatti being COMPLETELY shot was competitive against Baldomir. DLH was finished pretty much, Hatton was a good win, but Mosley was completely shot.

There were some threads posted that Cotto and Manny have discussed the possibility to fight at 150. So if it would be too difficult to fight at 150 then Cotto would have said so and said no way..... add the fact that he made 145 less than a year ago, it would suggest that making 150 would not be as difficult to make.... but as I said, it's from the threads and that is where this speculative 150 catchweight came from.

Personally, I'm hoping for the Floyd fight instead of this rematch.

As for Morales, Morales fight was for the 130 title. So that is why they fought at 130. If not, yeah, they could have fought at 132 and it wouldn't have bothered me.
