Why are they giving this Luis Maldonado lots of title shots?...he has lost two title shots against Darchinyan and Donaire before all coming by way of knockout. If he gets another title shot after this, i would no longer get it.

Maybe he should be paired with upcoming prospects as a gatekeeper rather than a contender to a title.

the mijares vs montiel fight its not really likely to happen
both of these guys promoters talked in the past and couldnt reach an agreement
after the fight was over montiel said he would like to fight mijares but he was not gonna wait for him he said hes planning to move up to bantamweight to win his third title in 3 different weight classes

Let's hope Mijares and Montiel is made for later in the year. We'd get further super flyweight unification and it would be great for the sport.

My pick is Mijares UD. The jab would be key in preventing Montiel from getting into an offensive rhythm. Montiel's stance and footwork make it relatively easy for Mijares to establish a jab and outbox him from mid/long range.

How can you beat Munoz more convincingly? Mijares put on a clinic. Besides, Munoz isn't a bad fighter (he's actually really good) at all. He did well for the first couple rounds, but once Mijares got into his rythm it was all him. I only gave rounds 1 and 7 to Munoz. You can argue about 2 and 12, but Mijares still won the fight very clearly and showed great defense

I'm pretty sure the Jorge Arce win puts that draw behind him. Mijares would knock out Maldanado if they had a rematch though.

Oh and Montiel and Mijares would both beat Donaire. Maybe Montiel would lose to Donaire, but Mijares wouldn't.

Donaire is a far more complete fighter than Mijares & Montiel...
Nonito would Dominate both of them if they fight at 112lbs...
But because Mijares/Montiel are fighting at 115lbs on regular basis and Donaire moving up 1 division above... I would say it will be a competitive bouts~
