When was the last time Taylor KOed some one?

If he couldn't KO the 154 lber Cory Spinks he's definitely not going to KO the iron chinned 168 lber Jeff Lacy.

To be fair though he did drop the iron chinned Pavlik and as of Lacys last two performances i can see him getting stopped.

Taylor has the talent to beat Lacy but he has a tendency to fight at the level of his opponent. If that happens he could lose to anybody. Taylors heart is not in boxing. He talked about retiring before the first Pavlik fight. He needs to go sit down before he gets hurt.. boxing is no place for the feint of heart.

            Calzaghe schooled him, beat Hops.
Taylor beat Hops in slightly better fashion.
            Lacy struggles to beat Manfredo.

Do ppl not learn after repeatedly visibly being shown the fighter the thought was top quality, is infact not on any of these guys levels at all. It's frightening.

Fair enough. Not sure I said/meant fact, just that many regard Froch as 3rd best SMW, Barry McGuigan rates him 2nd, Kessler 3rd. Most reckon a fight between them two would be close. What I'm saying though, Froch isn't even on their level, let alone Hops, Calzaghes, or obviously Taylors.

Bloody good point actually. Taylor being much better all round than Lacy is one thing, doing it in the ring is another. I also said and think, that it would be a closer fight then it would need to be. Taylor doesn't have the eye of the tiger as much as some others at that level, to perform his best regardless.

But even if it was competitive, border line close, doesn't change the fact Taylor is way out of his league, and everyone top 3 in SMW and below, and Taylor regardless isn't going to benefit from beating Lacy. He'd have to beat him as convincingly as Calzaghe which given his lack of heart is unlikely. So it'd be compared, and fair to question why he couldn't do the same. Amazing to think Lacy only just beat Manfredo and now could be in the ring with Taylor.

You're ignoring the fact that Jermain will engage when faced with someone willing to return the favor; eg the first few rounds of the Pavlik fight when he had the lauded MW champ on all fours. He came out FIRED UP that night.

Spinks wouldn't let Taylor get near him all night. I can see Lacy trying to go toe to toe with Jermain, confident he is the stronger man... and he will get battered every time he tries to come in by the better boxer. It may not matter though, if Taylor doesn't keep his ****ing hands up...
