Jermain Taylor vs. Jeff Lacy Being Discussed For 168

The opponent of the moment for Jermain Taylor's return is none other than Jeff Lacy, his former US Olympic teamate for 2000. The two boxers are friends, but that shouldn't stop a fight from taking place. A few years ago when Taylor was the undisputed middleweight champion and Jeff Lacy was the IBF super middleweight champ, Lacy told BoxingScene.com that he was willing to fight Taylor regardless of their friendship. Is anyone giving Lacy a chance here? Taylor just has little chance of stopping him due to Lacy's great chin but I doubt Lacy will be able to catch Taylor to land anything significant

Taylor would stop Lacy, he has too good of a chin and too much boxing ability. When i look back and think about the fighters that Lacy struggled with before the Calzaghe fight like Donell Wiggins, Syd Vanderpool, Sheika ect, i really wonder why he was a favorite to beat Calzaghe. All of them are technical boxers that gave Lacy trouble and Wiggins was actually beating Lacy before he was knocked out. We should have seen this beating coming. Jermain has a great chin, excellent boxing skills and a decent punch, I'm looking for him to get Lacy out of there in the late rounds. Against a ****er, Lacy would look his best but against a technical boxer, you can forget it. Taylor by late stoppage.

Taylor, easy decision or late ref. stoppage.

As long as Taylor remains disciplined which always seems to be a challenge for him, I don't see him losing. He made the right improvements in the Pavlik rematch, it's just that Pavlik is too good. Hopefully JT can bounce back.
